Wane to meet Radley … Talks Walker and Hastings to
dealwithit replied to DavidM's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
As an Aussie (with a bad education apparently) and an avid Super League fan, here’s my take: Walker is a good young half, but there’s better English halves. Walker has the luxury of an imposing forward pack and a partner in Keary that takes the lead most plays. This allows Walker to chime in with a bit of brilliance now and then. If you put Smith, Dodd, Pryce in that position they’d look equally as good as Walker. So I would pick Walker in the squad if England was his first choice, but I wouldn’t automatically select him on match day. As for Radley and Hastings, they are very good players and could help England win the WC. I would pick Morgan Knowles over Radley, but I would still have Radley in the 17. The 1 per centers on this forum need to remember that England desperately needs to win the World Cup to gain long term public support from the 99 per centers. Nothing will boost RL in England like a WC victory. -

It’s all well and good to say Hudds should play in a smaller stadium, but the reality is there isn’t a viable alternative. -
He may not have answered because he didn’t know. But let me shed some light… in Australia the accounting standards changed recently. To avoid the RLIF company from being wound up it would need to show it is a commercial operation and not simply a trust holding assets. Therefore, it needs to charge interest at the going rate. If you want to read more I suggest googling TAHE and NSW Government.

Championship & L1 2022 mid-season pickups

That’s really not comparable. Aiye and JJP have basically been up there for 10 years. Not really short term contracts to win promotion. -

I read David Hughes has been out of the country for a while, but has no returned. Anyone know anything? -
I thought Mick was suggesting 2x 10s for SL and Championship, with League 1 disappearing

Elite 1 is back this weekend
dealwithit replied to barnyia's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Yes it is illegal and I won’t debate this point right now. There are very few professions that conduct drug tests. If it was a performance enhancing substance, I understand the sporting ban. But he didn’t test positive during/before a match, so the sporting bodies should leave it to the courts to decide the outcome as a criminal matter. -

Great for him to be back. Quite a ridiculous situation to be banned for 2 years for using a short-lived stimulant for night out. -

London Broncos 2022 very similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm, when Mel Brooks casts Larry David in his long running broadway show. Brooks was hoping Larry would stink so bad that he wouldn’t have to continue producing the show. Kinda feels the same with David Hughes and his appointments of commercial manager, ceo and coach. -

I see even NW Crusaders can manage video interviews, and all the other social media faff. Decent quality too. Hello, London?? -

Couple quick ones, based on a bit of work history/perspective: - secure land tenure (ie 25+ years guaranteed lease in this case) does result in significant uplift contributed by the lease holder. This could be renovations, modifications or general preserving of the condition. This is the case for both private residential holdings and commercial property - in terms of commercial leasing, it’s normal that any modifications/improvements are funded by the tenant, not the landlord. So, in the case of Salford, they could definitely look to fund improvements if it financially made sense. If they’re able to keep the hospitality sales, food and drink sales, etc then they probably will look to make modest improvements. -

Well they did a few years back and won 80-0 right? Or something like that. Was at Wrexham Rwcecourse ground. -

Please tell me this isn’t true -
I think Salford are top 6 if they’re injury free. They have more depth than last year and have enough strike weapons to score points.

Couldn’t agree more. WWR need to accept there place as a stepping stone within the WRL strat plan. -

That was my favourite. Poor old Tiffin needs someone to write his copy for him — he’s clueless. -

Can anyone shed any light on the halves? -
I played a season with only 9 players. It was torture, but we still had the occasional fun. I got very good at kick offs. I was able to get the ball back almost everytime by finding the touch line. I remember also kicking a field goal when we were behind 60-10. Memories…

Thoughts on Peter Tiffin? He’s in charge of the football club too, if memory serves me correctly.

I think they have the lease on the clubhouse. So they keep any income from gamedays and other events held there.
