  1. My guess for next SL season is 11 teams. I suspect catalans will find 2021 very difficult due to on, off travel restrictions and can see them being a likely relegation candidate in 2 to 3 years time. As for toulose, Ottawa, belgrade, I think that will be the end of that. So, without wanting to risk getting back on topic, I actually think the idea of a "heartland" league is where SL is inevitably heading (with inevitably less funding flowing in) by 5 years time. I suspect the amateur game to still be played far and wide, but the very few viable pro clubs left will be m62. This might fill people with dread, but I suspect it now as inevitable and maybe we should just embrace it, alongside enjoying amateur expansion, and the nrl at the top.
  2. I think we can safely say Ottawa wont be in league 1 any time ever. Nor New York.
  3. You're listening to the boy from the big bad city this is jam hot.
  4. No mate, I heard Ben barber and sonny bill have signed for mad squirrels.
  5. Paris. Gateshead. Celtic Crusaders. Toronto.
  6. I only watch the NRL these days anyway. If it was on Premier Sports or Our League, or god forbid even terrestrial, I'd probably watch.
  7. Is it me or are the commentators despondent at the scoreline. They seem completely depressed. They're desperate for a Panthers win I think.
  8. We've gone massively off original topic here. But love it. What's the WA comp called? "Better than smoking premiership" or something mad like that? I watched a bit of it a couple of years ago streamed on youtube. It was really enjoyable, and on at a nice time if you're in the uk. Is it still streamed?
  9. Does the BBC know something we don't? Have a look at the fixtures on their sport website for NRL grand final Sunday- they already have teams filled in!
  10. not even got around to that yet. too early for me this morning. Busy catch up week this week as week then by the looks of it
  11. Amazing. 3 of the 4 NRL games were gripping. Bit of Challenge cup. And rounded it off with Red Star V Partizan over in Serbia. I'm still massively confused about the Serbian League. I only thought there were 4 teams in the first division. I've just read on some Facebook post the owner of Red Start saying there are 8 teams. Another post hinted that Partizan are now top. But I just can't find any detailed info. It's a shame as I've got quiet into it this year without and Our League games to watch on Sundays.
  12. to put it in context, it would be quicker to drive from the Jaguar's "home" ground to watch them play away at the All Golds, than it would be to watch a "home" Euro match.
  13. Ditto re joke. Euro games to be played at Aston Uni pitches, and not the Glyn Mitchell Ground where they will be playing their South West conference games. There's two questions off the back of that here I think - 1. why start a community club and try and possibly establish some local support over 18 month with games, youth set up, etc and then take the (allegedly) most high profile game 6 junctions up the motorway - there may only be one 'home' Euro game. And 2 - will the RFL actually allow them to play an unsanctioned game in England 2022
  14. No. Theres no games in Worcester. However there seems to be games everywhere else
  15. Sorry, I meant they do all their training and youth teams, and when it starts, their Community games in Droitwich Spa. But the Euro games are to be played in north Birmingham.
  16. Slightly gutted Jaguars will be playing these games away from their home though it seems.
  17. 'In light of the continued disruption that Covid 19 is causing through the world, the organisers of Euro XIIIs met with the participating clubs to discuss a range of subjects relating to the 2021 format. A representative from each club was invited to vote on postponing the tournament to either September 2021 or February 2022. The clubs voted unanimously to postpone the tournament until February 2022. Additionally the 16 clubs were invited to vote on an amendment to the tournament that would mean the knockout cup competition is replaced by a group stage with 4 teams in each group. Again clubs voted unanimously to the amendment that guarantees each team a minimum of 3 games rather than the original 1. The draw for which will take place on the 16th October 2020. Whilst it is disappointing that the current pandemic is forcing a delay, both the organisers and clubs continue to look forward to this exciting tournament that promises to develop rugby league throughout Europe. 19. Trump, Bush snr and Carter? I really hope so!
  20. Indeed. Me also. Will it be doing a round-the-grounds thing?
  21. No, just playing along with the game. They are neither Birmingham nor Worcester. But, living in Droitwich Spa, I'll be there, at the bar, for their first friendly against the All Golds this autumn, whatever they call themselves #jaguarsfans
  22. World class as in looked a class player in the best league. And international shoe in if he keeps that up imho. Maybe semantics in what I think of as world class as definitely not saying dally m, or even best prop in nrl. But looked as good if not better the Tom B yesterday
  23. I genuinely thought he'd be coming home sooner rather than later a couple of weeks ago. He looked world class today.
