  1. Grade D and two game ban for Meadows. Charged with a full head butt on the floor. Doesn't help us though.

Don't think the ref could have got it any more wrong. Instead of a red card to Batley he gave them the penalty plus sin-binned our player even though no punches thrown.

    rugby league for ya 😂

  2. 3 tries to 2 but the silly penalties cost us well batley won that comfy 13-3. Interesting what will happen to meadows was a clear headbutt people said pattons a liability but he was running in to drag a player of his mate that just been headbutted. and copped a yellow card for it.

think If we didn’t give so many penalties away we’d won this game still been close though. Can’t wait for the return match on the Mount

It was certainly in the 2nd half when the ref tried his utmost.

On the subject of Gale,I ain't his biggest fan,but in the opening minute of the game there was a deliberate attempt with a flailing elbow to his head.It failed to connect and Gale just continued without any drama.

I shall be viewing the recording to see if it shows.

I cannot understand the criticism aimed at the head coach - but not Noble.Wasn't he appointed to assist?

Yes.York and Odsal. Not the best destinations but as the side continues to improve the away results should start to pick up...

I am still trying to work out why Holmes left Sheffield Eagles and went to Bradford with the reports of unrest from last season. It allowed Thackeray to postpone his earlier stated retirement and he seems to be enjoying it a bit more.

I should really make efforts to find out day and kick off time for The Bash,at York.

I shall see what the stadium is like on Good Friday.

I’m guessing would been Fenton rogers the giants young loan lad who copped a sin binning bit later on for it second time this season now that has happen.

I think noble was more on the side to help get the players in with his pulling power far as I know anyway.

sunday 28th may far as I’m aware second to last game with the york women been the last game the weekend only good thing is it’s bank holiday still shame it’s not back at Blackpool. Lovely ground is yorks don’t get me wrong but it’s not summer bash is what it is now.

    Pretty impressive.

All the new combinations, the new additions, and recent form of Bradford eg.beating Sheffield, last week, who defeated Toulouse yesterday, was a slight worry.

Ended up making Bradford reminiscent of a League 1 side - despite what appeared to be a great deal of help from the referee to get them to score.

Better offensively and defensively.Further improvement to hopefully continue.

Enjoyable day with an enjoyable 80 minutes.Pleasure to be in attendance at Cougar Park while we completed 3 home wins against 3 city clubs, this year.

The fans turned up 4793 which was more than two super league games.

shame only one team turned up well played Keighley disagree with the comment about the ref we didn’t get are first penalty till about 48th minute.

moment for us was when gill went of injured we had two young Leeds lads out there depth and you had a field day down are left edge. Too many errors by us giving you easy field only plus glad we scored least wasn’t nilled although we’d have deserved it.

gale old manned the ref for the first tindall try going down how he did he tried it the set before the ref let it go.

tbf we do need a strong Keighley side 1-0 two games to go see you at the bash and Odsal.

  5. A new milestone hit! 3,200 tickets have been sold for Sunday's Battle of BD.

last push tomorrow see some walk up fans on the day looking like going be a really healthy crowd

  6. Blackmore 50-50 see training tonight likely be tindall started season with only two wingers. England, Thompson and Lawrence out injured see it been a forward aswell. We won’t have Johnson this week with the leeming situation plus roby is back from his one game ban so i realistically only see us using 2 players.

They were fairly obviously very different instances though. Hardcastle's penalty was for a late push on Lilley, he pushed him on the shoulder with his outstretched arm, penalty was the correct decision. Roby put his shoulder into Taylor with some degree of force sending him flying into the air.  Roby's unsurprisingly was judged a Grade C offence at the disciplinary and earned a ban whereas Hardcastle's wasn't even serious enough to be cited at the disciplinary. I really don't understand why so many fans find it hard to understand that there can be different degrees of severity for the same offence.

I understand but behind the sticks ain’t looked at any replays on the day I was followed the ball just saw the Fev lad go down knew was late. Same with lilley followed how are chase was from the kick saw Lilley go down didn’t know how just knew was late. Why I wondered sorry for wondering seems don’t understand the game if you do that haha

Exactly like Dunning's repeated passive-aggressive comments about the officiating when Bradford lose, then?

I agree but Ashton done it for 10plus years dunning is learning on the job his first ever first team gig and he will learn from the interviews in the future I hope.

only call I didn’t like from the Fev game was roby saw 10 for a late hit fair enough but a late hit on Lilley wasn’t seen as 10 minutes my only gripe.

best team won makes no difference just if you’ve sent one to bin for something the bar is then set is the point I’m making.

The omens have begun...in favour of the Cougars!

The referee is the same as on the day in 2022 when promotion was confirmed with victory at Doncaster.Scott Mikalauskas.

We have a good record when he referees our games.

It was an unbeaten run,at that time, and now seems as good as any to commence another unbeaten run.

The incremental improvement continued as we lost to what I consider to be the best side we have played in 2023,despite a larger defeat to Featherstone.

I expect good displays from former Bulls players,Doyle,Gale and Chisholm;if selected.

    Looking forward to it...

I was hoping this was an early April fools when I saw who the ref was.
I see you’ve never lost a game the three times hes reffed you you’ve won.

the five times we’ve had him we’ve only won once which was a comfy win the four losses all been tight affairs.

I believe that DUMP is the word you were looking for.

No one has disagreed with the state of Odsal just when it’s only ever mentioned when a team losses there like James Ford the other year got a tape measure out on it for 36-18 loss. We then went to york and beat them 37-18 proves the point it’s a bit of grass home away which ever ground you play at.

No, I think he has a point.  Always valued his opinion.

How comes he didn’t say it last year when they won never mentioned the condition of the stadium then as I say sour grapes come to mind. If you read all my post I agreed it is depressing but what I’m pointing out is was never said when they won if he said it last year then this year been like I agree. But he’s only mentioned it when they’ve lost.

  13. 2 wins from 6 for Keighley so far unlucky in couple well beaten in at least the Fev game.  Doesn’t matter what form there in they’ll be up for it Sunday and we need to Match that or we will be beaten.

looking forward to it atomshere should be cracking hoping for the two points offcourse plus side is cup weekend after chance to rest couple bodies but still be cup respectful like the last round.

It’s started today with teams beating each other with surprise defeats for York and Sheffield.

The york one was definitely a surprise the Sheffield one not so much bookies couldn’t pick a winner was evens. We just blew them away that first 20 and let them back into the game.

which led to Ashton saying it’s depressing place to come to is Odsal you look around and I’m depressed. Funny thing is was never mentioned last year when they won 🤔 sour grapes come to mind.

said it before Odsal is depressing but everybody only goes there once I go there 13 times minimum depending on cup draws.

  15. Batley played the conditions better some sloppy knock ons expected in the conditions but when batley did was always on the barrow 10 or 20 at worst, be disappointed to concede the two late tries when barrow never looked like scoring.

from a barrow point be thinking why can’t we play like that last 5 minutes.

think after haven beating York they’ll be on a high and be a tough game on Sunday specially up there plus for batley you do have a ncl team in the cup the weak after to get some bodies back for the Easter game.

The Bulls have clearly improved and have some classy players. We certainly can’t afford to be complacent tonight, against one of closest opponents.

Apparently we have surpassed last seasons crowd already. Anyone know how many were there last season?. Would be good to get over 4K tonight.

Sure seen somewhere something like 2900 whatever the last bit was but just under 3k either way 🙂

bookies have give us a 30 headstart too

    I wasn't far off lol.

Think yours might been correct for the walk up price can’t fully remember as I was a season ticket holder back then so can’t fully remember the prices.

anyway back to the game. Be interesting to see what headstart the bookies give us.

personally for us I’d go with same team Thomson comes straight back in for Brad England bit of a thumb injury so rest him.

  18. 11 minutes ago, The Phantom Horseman said:

I've seen some people on FB moaning about the reduced prices having already bought tickets or season tickets.

To me those people are thinking it wrong. It's win/win. You bought the tickets/season tickets at what you considered to be a fair price, and in the case of season tickets probably did so to help support the club too.

But as well as the committed supporters, the club also needs those who aren't quite so committed, or perhaps are really struggling with finances. Because if the club gets more people paying through the gate, we ALL win, including those committed supporters who paid full price or bought season tickets, because that's what helps us afford players like Elijah Taylor, Chris Hankinson, Mackenzie Yei etc. Plus there will be a better atmosphere with a bigger crowd.

This one of them where it’s only for featherstone fans as tickets bulls been given by featherstone are 20 quid?
