  1. It’s probably the same reaction when us Pacific Islanders see AFL or soccer when turn the tv on.
  2. There is definitely an opportunity for league to grow in NZ as sport and has always been the case. But it won’t be at the expense of their national game.
  3. I played a season in Waikato a few years ago now and was fun. It appears the premiership keeps changing from been a Waikato only teams to a regional one with teams from the Bays, King Country and Thames.
  4. This is why the other code will always have a huge international following. Their daily international schedules of international competitions, test matches, Lions tours and major events like World Cups, Commonwealth Games and Olympics always keep their fans talking and interested every year.
  5. That’s what happens when the NRL are in controlled of the Pacific Island nations international schedules, and not IRL or the local administration themselves.
