  1. I think that the pay at so called amateur union clubs can be quite good, so maybe Donny allowed him to supplement his wages !
  2. Funds for who, at this stage of the season players are committed to contracts.
  3. What do you suggest for loosing a marquee signing and possibly a wealthy investor in one go, friendly against Hull reserves before next season is usually the going rate.
  4. It says on one of the Hull Facebook pages that their new director of rugby is talking to his current club about terminating his current contract. Doesn’t sound much room for compensation there.
  5. I see that Harris has got a one match ban for a dangerous throw last Sunday, so will he be available or not ?
  6. Myler is out for three months, so he won’t be playing on Sunday.
  7. I see that the lad has been recalled by Hull FC as they were short of numbers. Shame we didn’t get to see the lad play.
  8. Rugby League live have stated that they have been contacted by several players saying that talks are being held over strike action. Their issue is with the disciplinary action taken by the match review panel after the first week of SL. I wonder if Championship players would also take part.
  9. I see that a number of SL clubs have already of which players are in contract for next season, and which ones aren't. Personally I think it's ridiculous 9 or 10 rounds into a season to be preparing for the next one, but that's obviously the way things are. Would be good if the club could do the same ?
  10. Toulouse 58- Newcastle 0. Think the top try scorer will be from Featherstone or Toulouse
  11. Because he has to name 21 players in the squad, wether they are fit or not.
  12. I think that we never saw Brendan at his best, even when he played he seemed to hesitate to run the ball.
  13. Luke Gale, was expected to sign for Bradford of Featherstone, but has signed for Keighley instead. Good signing for them I think.
  14. I see that Perry Whitely has signed for Dewsbury, should do a job for them.
  15. Of that 24 players, PP will be out till June or July I have been told, Butterworth is still on the books I think, but is an unknown quantity at this level, and a number of our older players are injury prone. That is why I am concerned about the size of the squad. If we have SL aspirations for the future we can't be relying on loan players, wether on a month or a season basis.
  16. Who does everyone think has had the best World Cup. For me it is Ronan Michaels, some strong carries and great stints in defence.
  17. Disappointed that York Council haven't had a civic reception for the New Zealand men's side that is staying in The Grand hotel for the six weeks of the tournament. If they have held one it's got no publicity.
  18. It is in the Press that the clubs have overwhelming accepted IMG's proposals, so the club will play in the new league structure in 2025.
  19. McDermott named as new Knights coach. But don't worry it's Newcastle knights, he is their new assistant coach. So that's one name to scratch of the list.
  20. It is starting to look like this has caught the club unawares. Three days without any comment is not good.
  21. No these are two separate issues, if Fordy has left York then it's the clubs responsibly to announce that, not Wakefield's. If he gets the assistant coaches job at Wakefield then they should announce that.
  22. It's been in an West Yorkshire newspaper, so it seems to pretty official. That's why some sort of announcement confirming or denying the news should be forthcoming.
  23. What is annoying me is that 24 hours after this news started coming out, there has been no statement from the club. At the very least I would expect the club to thank Fordy for the many years of service to our club.
  24. Breaking news IMG's first recommendation is the scraping of relegation for category A Super League sides, looks like we might be back to playing for the sake of it. It implies that there will be category B Super League sides, will that be us, with no chance of promotion to category A ?
  25. I am not saying spend heavily, I am saying spend prudently. Jacob Ogden offers nothing to the side and we have him for another season. Sam Davis didn't get a chance and was shipped off to London, where he was so bad they give him a contract.
