  1. Cornwall as a whole (which the club stands for) has a population of over 560,000.
  2. I think the Hurricanes looked full of confidence from the minute they walked out, got their punches in first, and we just didn't settle until the second half (when it became a much more even contest). Cornwall will be ok - we had a few notables crocked and sidelined even before the season started - so every aspect will strengthen. Midlands looked really good, though. I think they'll do very, very well this season. Re: running track. I get your point and broadly agree. However, if we did a tick list of positives and negatives, the former would be very long and the latter very short. It's a first class stadium, make no mistake, and from the mid-height concourse the view was excellent.
  3. Went yesterday and had a look around the main Alexander Stadium while there - my daughter does athletics so we had to, really! I truly hope the Hurricanes can pull plenty of fans to help fill it in 2024 because it's a cracking place! In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there are moves to host internationals and 'Summer Bash' type events there in the future. It would certainly be viable (easy to access off the M6 and M5).
  4. I was fortunate enough to stay in the same hotel as Adam and the rest of the Australian PDRL guys last year. He and all his team mates were an absolutely cracking bunch of blokes.
  5. All games to be tighter than some expect. Besides which, heart and head say that Cornwall will confound all expectations against Hurricanes in a memorable game.
  6. Hi Gog. Try sending it to gdavies@cornwallrlfc.co.uk if you haven't done so already.
  7. It certainly should be for everyone. Every small club deserves the chance to dream.
  8. Edinburgh v Saddleworth this Saturday and, just announced, Cornwall v Rochdale Mayfield on the 25th. Both BBC Red Button. What's not to like! https://www.rugby-league.com/article/61389/from-edinburgh-to-cornwall-–-bbc-sport-challenge-cup-coverage-takes-the-long-road
  9. Bit of feedback on the Cornwall v Skolars warm-up. https://cornwallrlfc.co.uk/news/abbott-reflects-on-london-skolars-friendly/
  10. Beyond England, Australia, PNG, and New Zealand, which nation excites you the most for future development in Women's Rugby League?
  11. A mix of both, and there are a few more to be announced in the near future. I think our spine will be very strong this year, but I'm most looking forward to seeing a few of the local lads progress - guys like Brad Howe who came to us halfway through last season and has a lot of prop potential. As for live streaming, I have no idea at the moment I'm afraid.
  12. If other L1 teams and their supporters think that Cornwall RLFC in 2023 will be at the same level as last year, they are in for a surprise. Lots of familiar faces which bodes well for cohesion and continuity, but also some new guys who are training really well as I understand it. If we can keep the injury count low we'll be causing lots of trouble as the season goes on.
  13. One game? Convince him to get a season ticket - he'll hear a few familiar accents and feel right at home!
  14. Looks good to me! https://cornwallrlfc.co.uk/news/new-2023-home-kit-revealed/
  15. I believe so. Same one who did quite well at Warrington.
  16. I certainly think Hull will go well this season with TS at the helm. Like Warrington, I don't expect them to be at full bore from the get go, but both teams should be vying for silverware at the end of the season.
  17. Really pleased for everyone involved with the Hurricanes. The future is bright, for sure. That said, Cornwall RLFC are going to spoil the party on the 19th of February. After all, you beat us at our first home match so it's only fair!
  18. Just had mine delivered! Have to say that I'm impressed with the design detail on the hoodies, especially the inside of the hoods on the Cook Islands and Jamaica ones. Credit where credit's due!
  19. Last year. To be updated prior to new season.
  20. Cornwall squad coming together nicely with more to be announced over the next few weeks, I suspect. Will list in due course.
  21. By sheer coincidence, I've just sent an email regarding some hoodies bought at the beginning of the month. Then I saw this. Oh well, they arrive when they arrive. Little chance of them before the 25th.
  22. One of the most marketable young players in the game 'let go'. I do wonder, sometimes. I really do.
