They are produced for every league game printed by my son's company All Design & Print Ltd.
Okay, thanks.
It's intriguing, I always sit at the northern end of the main stand and, as I say, there haven't been any on sale there since at least the middle of last season. I always make a point of looking out for them too. Perhaps I'd find them in the other concourse if I got a ticket for the other end of the stand.

York Knights do produce a printed programme as well as a digital version.
Admittedly I'm only an occasional visitor, but I haven't seen them on sale since early/mid season last year.

No, they have a brand that they have built for years. In the same way I support Man City despite not being from Manchester.
But there is no brand in Lancs RL.
Their brand (like all first class county cricket teams) is the traditional country they represent.
If roses matches were to work, we would need to build the brand (the competition and the teams).
In terms of the teams, I'm happy to accept it looks an easier task for Yorks than Lancs.
Anyway, my point was simply that the stadiums mentioned are in Lancashire as generally understood in a sporting context. Although Wilderspool, being on the other side of the Mersey wasn't.

It isn't a technicality. We are trying to appeal to young fans, and most will have no links to Lancashire.
Lancashire County Cricket Club don't seem to have an issue. Everyone accepts they represent the traditional county.

How many in Lancashire?
Let's not start this again.
Yes, there are different types of counties - the traditional ones, administrative ones, ceremonial ones, etc. What constitutes Lancashire is different for each of those types of county.
We all know that in the rugby league (in fact general sporting) context, a reference to Lancashire means the traditional county.
All of the grounds mentioned there are in the traditional county of Lancashire.

I saw they were selling Yorkshire and Lancashire shirts last year (because we still do Roses matches at other levels of the game) and I would have bought one but Yorkshire was sold out in my size.
I got one myself. Nice shirt with a proper collar.

Catalans Dragons
Super League 30 players
Elite 28 players
Juniors U19 28
Women 15 (Seven playing for France)
Wheelchair 10 (European Champions 2O24)
*1OO in total
York
Championship
Squads
Knights 32
Valkyriee Womens 26 (didn't know the name from Nordic history)
U19s 25
Total for women 50
I'm not sure of the reason you have done this comparison, please could you explain?
If you are comparing Catalans to a British club, wouldn't it make more sense to be another of the top SL clubs who run reserves (akin to Catalans' Elite 1 team) and an academy?
York, I believe, have also begun running a wheelchair team recently.

5900 licences in the full region of occitanie, it says that's 78% of all licences in France so really around 7000 licences in the whole of France, but licences doesn't mean players, it includes coaches, presidents, fitness coaches, kids and kids coaches,
We're even put down as a comparison to other regional sports like bull running and tambourine tennis!
It's amazing how the French manage to get so many good players, considering playing numbers, especially being competitive up to u19s against the English,
I assume almost all of the remaining 22% will be in the neighbouring regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Nouvelle-Aquitaine?

A little non-leading test for you and anyone else.
You're an RL fan. Will you be telling any non-RL friends about these international games whether that's encouraging them to attend/try to watch/follow the games?
Personally, if it was on TV I would mention it to people and encourage them to watch it.
If it's on SL+ then I may still bring it up in conversation, but it will be less likely and I'm less likely to suggest people download an app, etc specially for it.

Lets be equally fair that in the wider world people are probably not going to know there is a champ match on afterwards.. and that in itself speaks volumes of where we are today..
any RFL bashing is merited on much of what they do as its so unbelievably tinpot its ridiculous and the fact the wider world doesnt really know what is going on in a sport they hardly know is testament to the work/nonwork done by the RFL for the past 20+ years.
Are people in the wider world going to know about the internationals, never mind the Championship match?
It looks as though it won't be on TV, just on SL+. I can't see there being much promotion of it to anyone who isn't already following RL.

Lots of strong criticism of the RFL here, but unless I'm mistaken it is the French who are organising this event. They have likely decided the scheduling of all 3 games based on their views what will do the most for them on a tight budget. It is their 90th birthday party, they are not a wealthy organisation and just getting this event on is probably quite an achievement. Let's consider this before jumping in and bashing the RFL.
I place (most of) the blame with the RFL.
The Championship is a RFL competition, the RFL chose to programme an international break for Super League but not for the Championship.
It is obvious that Toulouse must have a week off if there is to be an England v France international, the RFL decided not to programme that into the fixtures.

Oh yes. And Bradford Park Avenue too. Though Bradford City was Manningham though so is that like what M j M said about Leeds but just applicable for Bradford?
Yes - but Manningham moved to become an association football club early in their history.
Bradford has been a one club RL place for most of the sport's history.
For Leeds and Hunslet think Liverpool and Everton in football - everyone considers Everton a Liverpool club despite not having the city as part of its name.
In Leeds, the split was traditionally a geographic one (north/south of the river). Similar to the Hull east/west split.

For the uninitiated, is Via Occitanie a FTA channel?
I think it's a FTA regional channel in the south of France.

He'd be better lacing his boots, as he's a better option than any of Hull's current batch of halves/full backs (Trueman excluded)
He might be if he hadn't got injured in one of his few appearances for York - He was already out for at least most of the season before York announced his retirement today in advance of the Hull FC statement.

Yeah, bit of an own goal with the song ending "Leeds, Leeds, Leeds" instead of "Leeds United, Leeds United, Leeds United" though.
Although they never play the whole recording at Headingley, because it begins "Here we go with Leeds United, we're gonna give the boys a hand, stand up and sing for Leeds United..."

...how does one categorise cities elsewhere especially countries and locations without a royal family or the minimal presence of Christianity?
That would depend on the culture, traditions and laws of any individual country.
Many languages don't differentiate between town and city and have a single word for any urban settlement. French - Ville, German - Stadt, etc.
The English language does differentiate and city status here is either acknowledged as having existed since (at least) medieval times on the basis of having a cathedral, or is granted by Royal Charter.
In the 1830s Ripon was the first place to have a church raised to the status of (Anglican) Cathedral in England since the 1500s. Their council assumed this automatically made Ripon a city and began calling themselves Ripon City Council. The situation was unclear though and they eventually petitioned The Crown to recognise their city status and were instead granted a Charter in 1865. Every one since has been created a city by Royal Charter.

Yes - But it probably doesn't fit South Bedfordshire Fan's definition of a city.

Halifax, Leeds, Bradford but i think the point is it's never the Lancashire team having to travel.
I'm not sure what the lowest acceptable capacity would be, but the issue seems to be that there are no RL stadiums of the size required between Huddersfield and Salford, so if they are doing the 'obvious' thing of using a stadium in between the clubs, then it has been west of Manchester and Huddersfield have travelled further.
With Oldham back at Boundary Park, would that be an option? Unless they want to look at a football only ground (Edgeley Park or Gigg Lane?). But then there would be complaints that RFL money was going to another sport.

It's clearly glitter-rolling for IMG points, but I reckon it does materially improve the ground overall, in the interim.
That, however, raised the question - why didn't they do this many years ago??
The answer is, of course, IMG and the threat of relegation based on off-field standards.
I'd be interested to know whether the majority of Castleford fans consider it an improvement.
That stand usually looks quite full with people standing. Is it the quality of the seating facilities in the main stand that put those people off sitting, or would they just rather stand?
If it's the latter, then Castleford are potentially reducing the the amount of standing space (favoured by their supporters) in order to obtain a higher IMG grade.

All I can find is they are covering Barrow v Dewsbury.
The BBC seem to have got quite bad at giving advanced notice of what they're broadcasting this year.
I'd leave it until 15 minutes before kick-off to check on the RL page of their website. If it isn't showing then, keep checking up to (and beyond) kick-off - the match commentaries usually appear eventually.

Thanks, they've obviously just stopped selling them in the other concourse at the north end of the east stand.
