  1. Swinton Lions v Sheffield Eagles - Sheffield by 8 Widnes Vikings v Batley Bulldogs - Widnes by 2 Featherstone Rovers v Wakefield Trinity - Wakefield by 14 Halifax Panthers v York Acorn - Halifax by 28
  2. I have been in agreement that the broadcasters should avoid giving away the scores in other matches being broadcast at the same time, so that people could watch the other(s) later. But I think you may be stretching it a bit here with this point. How long after the completion of a match do you think Sky should leave it before reasonably mentioning it on another game? I think it is reasonable for them to mention tonight's score in tomorrow's coverage. For example tomorrow they may want to make a talking point out of Saints (potentially) trying to retake top place after Rovers/Wire overtook them on points difference.
  3. I notice that the BBC Sport website has an article about the incident with Spencer Leniu and Ezra Mam, but don't seem to have any other article that mentions the Vegas opener/doubleheader at all. Other than recording the scores in their 'fixtures and results' section (as they do for any NRL matches) nothing on the matches or the wider event.
  4. At this one this afternoon. Pretty straight forward for York so far.
  5. From the score, that looks to have been a good game. Decided to watch the stream of this one back tonight.
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/rugby-league/68317602 The live matches (including radio commentary) seem a lot harder to find on the BBC website this year.
  7. From memory, the broadcast rights were rolled in with the Championship deal on Premier Sports/ViaPlay for the last two years. With there being no Championship broadcast deal at present, no one is showing this either. I thought Sportsman might be interested. Radio commentary - Wakefield v Barrow on BBC Radio Cumbria (available on BBC Sports website), Bradford v Swinton on West Yorkshire Rugby League Mixlr and York v Oldham on BBC Radio York (and via BBC Sports website).
  8. Discuss this weekend's 1895 Cup Quarter Final games here. Please stick to discussing the matches and do not accuse match officials of being biased or corrupt or you run the risk of being immediately banned from the forum. SATURDAY 2nd MAR Wakefield Trinity v Barrow Raiders KO 15:00 SUNDAY 3rd MAR Bradford Bulls v Swinton Lions KO 15:00 Sheffield Eagles v Batley Bulldogs KO 15:00 York Knights v Oldham KO 15:00 @John Drake or @ckn - Please could we get this one pinned?
  9. Radio commentary of all three can be found here if that's preferable to just seeing the score updates: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/rugby-league/68337801
  10. I thought they got rid of origin weekends and play them all midweek now. It was suggested that this was in part to ensure that NRL clubs continue to play the weekends before and after origin and there is no space in the calendar for mid-season internationals for other countries.
  11. Lebanon won't be taking part will they? They've already qualified for the world cup by getting to the quarter finals last time. As someone said up thread (I think it's this thread) currently the only full member nation in MEA who will take part in qualification is South Africa.
  12. I think that's identical to what they told us last summer. The concerning thing is that they still haven't said how the 2024 championships are being run - participants, format, etc.
  13. Inflation possibly explains it in part. It is likely to be related to the commercial value of the developments providing the s106 funds - basically the value of the Axiom (Castleford) development will currently be assessed as greater than the Newmarket (Wakefield) development. I don't think the cost of the two stadium developments will be the primary determinant. What degree the difference in value is down to inflation over the last few years, I don't know.
  14. I don't know who it is that favours the current arrangement, but I'd definitely prefer it if they entered at the round of 32 rather than the last 16.
  15. It isn't: EggFace doesn't seem able to post without mentioning something to do with union. How else can you derail a thread about Peet to point it in a union direction?!
  16. Oldham score just before half-time to make things interesting for the second half. Swinton 14-6 Oldham
  17. 5th Round Draw: Halifax v York Acorn Widnes v Batley Featherstone v Wakefield Swinton/Oldham v Sheffield
  18. I can't remember what the first was for (there were definitely two). The second was for tackling the Bradford fullback in the air (and possibly tipping him on the way down).
