RL Tragic

Castleford have been not far off in the not too distant past . If they had a John Smiths quality stadium they would certainly be pushing it . Bulls no problem. Wakefield have Also averaged 8k in the recent past in an utter S*it tip . The point is those teams with Huddersfield’s success and facilities would far exceed Huddersfield’s average and it’s reasonable to assume they would not be far off 5 figures.

I think castleford and Wakefield in a decent stadium with reasonable success, I think the point is the attendances at Huddersfield’s just simply are never going to hit the big time .

I think that’s the real point , it’s such a shame that the town doesn’t get behind them .

Isn’t it more a case of that’s terrible from Huddersfield. Open question but where does the future lie when a club regardless of success will never break 5k . Put Huddersfield’s team success and backing at Wakefield, Castleford , Bradford Widnes and you would be comfortably looking at 10k+. Not in any way shape of form trying to offend Huddersfield’s loyal supporters.

Fair point , I think however most people feel that sports , TV , Education, Adverts have become tools whereby special interest groups can push their opinions. The majority of people want to watch a game of sports eat a pie and have a pint without the constant drip feeding of propaganda coming with all three .

I don’t think it’s a case of people who don’t like a certain community won . I think this is a victory for sports remaining apolitical and sticking to providing entertainment.

When and why did international RL stop being profitable. We had tri/four nations up to 2015 , I don’t understand at what point it stopped being viable

For me the ambition was great , The issue was I think the organisers got in to a drum beating , Buzz word saying , everything is going to be great groupthink and assumed the job was done , Stoked by Dutton . You can tell this was the case by the outlandish statements on attendance . In Short they spent that long telling all and sundry about there new whirlpool bath ( which is not necessarily a bad thing ) that nobody checked the pipe work ( infrastructure, Basics )properly before the water got turned on .

I think if Cas had one decent plastic seats cantilever affair it would make it Bob on as RL grounds go .

Totally agree , I think it adds character to be able to identify a stadium on TV . Many of the new ones are fairly interchangeable .

Football doesn’t have an issue with Funding Participation Attendances Popularity thats why it doesn’t matter so much . No one’s pointing out failings in RL for fun . I’m sure your in agreement that with our sports product it should be vastly more popular than it is . People just want to see the game getting the support it deserves

I went to 9 in total and have aired my disappointment at the organisers since day one . It’s a very flippant comment to assume people rightly pointing out that the organisers have failed to perform to there pay pack are professional moaners . Other sports fans simply would not shrug their shoulders and accept some of the bloopers and missed opportunities that we have suffered in this World Cup . It harks to the RL fans stoic acceptance of poor leadership that people are mobbing those who dare to point out obvious failings.

Hang on Let’s just put this in to perspective. The scale of the crowds opening ceremony and feeling of 2013 took us all by surprise . Let’s just look at some facts . No where near the funding , Government support build up for 2013 to 2022 . in 2013 no one made claims that they would attract over 50% more than they actually did . Let’s have a look at your points . - rubbish crowds at Neath and Wrexham , In 2013 we had impressive crowd after impressive crowd well thought out and marketed at different locations. If we are going to call out two relatively poor crowds should we start listing the shockers from 2022. - a random game in Limerick with Australia galloping Ireland . A sound idea to have an Ireland team playing In Ireland . Like France in France of wales in wakes both of which you have neglected to comment on . - a really uncompetitive set of knockout games except for the NZ-Eng semi. Fair point , but that is really down to quality of players available then vs now not the organisers . No ones denied that this edition has had some success. The anger comes from the fact it should not have been ok it should have been fantastic. It’s only because of poor but not poorly paid leadership ( The Rugby League curse ) that it wasn’t, we shouldn’t settle for it .

I take an agree with your point on the TV figures , I agree this has been a great success. However how a product is presented is everything. The poor seating planning and poor attendances , Both due to organiser incompetence have detracted from what’s on offer . This should not have been the case . I’m sure you can see my frustration . Complex issues I can forgive, But there have been too many utter schoolboy errors at this World Cup to not have someone brought to book .

Let’s be clear . This game has precious little money , people have been paid lots and lots of money to do a job , I chose to bring to book those who through gross incompetence have missed our great game an opportunity to shine , and I mean properly shine in the National conscious. I’m not going to sweetness and light where they are concerned. as regards the positives , all the ones you have mentioned I totally agree with . The Tv presentation and coverage for one have been phenomenal. My point is this World Cup should with half decent leadership been an absolute , resounding ball bouncing success.

Believe me I hate the fact I have to be negative about the mens comp . I take zero pleasure from it , it makes me sad and in turn angry at those responsible. Our Game players and fans deserve better.
