I am going to watch Yo La Tengo in Manchester during April but i don’t think i have been to the venue(unless it’s had a name change). It’s called New Century in Hanover Street has anyone been ?. -
I have managed to find myself a victim (what some of my family & friends call it when i look for a chauffeur to take me to a gig). I am seeing Yo La Tengo in Manchester in April. I love YLT they have done some fantastic LP’s, I’ll have to catch up on the new one out.

The Leeds (so called)shoulder charge looked fine to me, but Hurrell’s looked a shocker. We looked goosed as the game went on, the players were bunched up not running onto the ball. But the Saints fans who think we was robbed by the official’s should look instead at our dreadful tackling, woeful discipline, poor KGP’s, and a bizarre bench. I hope we don’t have Davies playing in the centre’s on Friday, no offence too the lad but i was amazed he got a two year deal at the club.

Although i am bitterly disappointed we lost last night, i thought Leeds deserved it. Saints only have themselves to blame with poor discipline yet again (Sironen & Matautia - surprise surprise) and our dreadful tackling, and a poor kicking game. Two of the Leeds’s tries were breathtaking and although it hurts you can do nothing but applaud such fantastic tries. Is the Leeds prop called Sangare ! What a brilliant player. Saints have been ripped to bits twice out on the flanks now in the last two games, we lacked pace last night, Makinson is a very good player but isn’t as fast as he used to be. I really like Bennison but he isn’t a winger for me. I also don’t understand in having four subs but only using three, but that bench was lightweight last night.

I thought Broadbent had a good game for Cas. I would sooner have Bennison at fullback for Saints than on the wing because i think he is too small at the moment. But yesterday he was excellent and safe under a high ball. This time last season id never heard of the lad, he could have a promising future.

He’s got a lot of learning to do bob. Grace was the same, but the advantage Grace had he over Ritson is Regan had a couple of years left on his contract. I do hope Saints sign him and give him a couple of years, because he is exciting when he gets the ball. I love seeing players who come up from the lower leagues make it in the top tier no matter who they play for.

I thought i was the only person who thought that johnny. He was garbage at Saints as well. I think we only signed him after he scored a length of the field try when he skinned Shenton at the then Langtree Park. I saw him have one decent game in a Saints shirt at Wire. Most of the time he looked overweight and ponderous.

Players Nicknames. The Good, the Bad and the Weird

I have heard some Saints fans call Hopoate - Hopalong because of his injuries. Barry Ledger was called Barry Lager by a lot of Saints fans. I used to really like Ledger as he could move and i saw him pull off a couple of fantastic try saving tackles. One of the tackles was against Leigh in the CCSF at Wigan in 1987…….i think it was Leigh, i was very very drunk at the time.
