Sinead Peach has just publicly announced her pregnancy - good luck to her and her partner Callum, and we'll no doubt see her back out on the pitch sometime next season.

A real team effort that - reasonably error free, can't remember us getting pinged for offside (even though the line speed was good) and excellent collective defence against an in-form team that was noticeably bigger than us. Bench was great as well today. Ronan Michael, Josh Daley and Jack Teanby brought a real energy to us when we could have flagged. A round of applause for Akuma Ta'ai too, who played long and valuable minutes for a veteran prop.

I don't know quite where York pulled that performance from (given their recent form), but their victory over Bradford was well deserved, and a soft try let in at the death made the result look closer for the Bulls than it actually was. Great day of rugby in the sunshine at York, with the women's match against Saints going down to the wire beforehand. If you could have added Batley's catering and beer, it would have been just about the perfect day out

The big miss for York tomorrow against Saints will be Sinead Peach, with the solution being (as it so often for the Valkyrie) Georgie Hetherington to Hooker. Expect a strong bench of Jas Bell, Kelsey Gentles, Jess Sharp and Lucy Eastwood. Third part of York RLFC's documentary series has been released today - it focuses on the Valkyrie. I think all fans of women's RL will enjoy this.

Richard's point about Saints' backline improving is valid, and I really don't see them being much behind York and Leeds (and capable of turning them over). I just think that Leeds (with heft added to their pack in Shona Hoyle and Grace Field) and York, with their well coached knack of squeezing the life out of opponents, have the ability to deprive them of the field position to make it count.

Fixed that for you - Saints pack looked a bit one paced last year, and I don't see that changing this year. Whilst I agree that the massacres that Saints and Valkyrie have inflicted on opponents in the cup so far are no real indication of how Sunday's fixture will go, I've been impressed with the Valk's line speed this year. Having a fast and mobile middle forward in Alex Stimpson returning after two years, and an ex-winger in Kelsey Gentles joining the forwards will give their pack some zip.

I'm pretty sure that I've read Tony Collins stating that Coventry were the last RU club to threaten to cross over to RL over payments, in the 1920's. The RFU took a very soft approach to Coventry's payments in this case, and brushed it under the carpet.
