I've dug around and found this (SARL so...). Anyway it's not exactly clear what's going on but does say:
This comes after the club confirmed they had made £250,000 from this campaign last week

SARL get confused with Turkish Lira and GBP

Why wouldn't taking 15 blokes from C1, paying them better money, and giving them better training facilities for however many years they sign for be better for the game? Surely once they leave, they could return to said C1 clubs if they aren't able to make the move up.
C’mon at least when I tekk P it sounds almost believable

Oh right, and that is the RFL's fault for some people?
Thanks for clarifying
I suppose your answer has now been posted. Leigh could have taken 15 blokes from C1 paid them £3-5k pa to turn out for the reserves with the first teamers not playing but don’t think that would be good for the game.

Shame they couldn't buy enough players to run a reserves side, another 0-48 defeat this week.
Oh dear, we were refused an Academy so how do we run a reserves ? The error is the RFL including a team in the fixtures that hadn’t even entered the comp, makes the sport look bad when fixtures are not fulfilled especially so when the team concerned doesn’t even exist

Lams signed a 9 year deal with his dad, Trout and 3 other high profile non quota coming in with Ben and Ava told to play for a spot. Marquees will come in to push Derek’s vision, I hear we will be spending £1m on 2 players

Help me out please, as far as I can see Salford RD holdings is a dormant company that owns Salford city reds 2014 ltd which is £3m in debt. A Community co op has been set up to hold any cash raised which may, I dont know, have some tax benefits like gift aid and corporation tax. Does the share apply to the CoOp, why is SRD dormant, How many shares are available, can the CoOp control the business and if so what happens to existing shares and who pays the £3m debt or is this a classic roll it and move on scheme??
your help in allowing me understand it would be greatly appreciated

Is this a trust or a bucket collection? The CEO retains control with the plebs votes not really counting and no obvious plans for Y2 etc. A number of clubs have ISA’s raising cash for their clubs eg LISA has raised over £500k since being formed. A FCU type trust would probably work better, turn loans into shares and £x per share made available with monthly DD to support continual investment

What a curious post that is!
I'm not sure whether you read the article.
I didn't say that the NEDs are a waste of money - but that it would be useful for them to have a public profile supporting the game (and therefore their positions in it).
"The mindset is so small-time, and short-term".
It isn't either of those things. If Rugby League is going to have a long term future, supported by strong broadcasting contracts, it has to have a much higher profile and those people occupying key positions in the sport have to help it achieve that.
"Can we please stop running the sport reacting to the whims of a small cabal of aging people in West Yorkshire?"
What on earth you mean by this is anyone's guess.
Who are the non execs of our biggest sport ie the soccer Premier league

Which tells us how daft it was to attempt it in the first place , thanks for confirming it for us
It was attempted because they thought it would fail, TW should have been placed in SL with a 3 year exemption in return for a bond, with SL going to 14.
the commercial opportunities in Toronto with the guarantee of 3 years at the top level would have removed the added costs and would have seen the soccer stadium used to host most games in year 2.

One argument that has been used for this nee system is it causes ‘boom and bust’ for promoted/relegated teams, but surely if an adequate parachute payment is provided to relegated teams, this allows strong Championship teams to grow. Not that I’m suggesting that the SL clubs want to keep this money for themselves
The relegated club comes down keeps a good squad and goes back up therefore ruining the Championship

We have been to 5 grounds this season in SL, Catalan, Hull and Wire are first class. HKR are improving massively but parking is awful and still retains a few Knobheads but mainly kids. Then we have Wakefield, it is shocking!!! nice flat pitch now though and what looks like a great stand rising. Away terrace has no height to view, bogs are interesting but they get food n beer out quickly - and great fans. It has pros and cons compared to POR and they are the ones you will replace at year end - if you do go up I can see Wakey being in a right mess financially, which may give you 12/13th spot depending on TO

That’s because WN7 wealth is diluted by the scabs and scivers from Humbletown

The disposable income for the majority in WN7 is greater than most London boroughs. The North is awash with cash

So bloke A has a debt of say £250k secured against his home, does the share issue provide the money to pay the debt and free his home, or does it cover the next set of losses?

Leigh are at the bare bones but the pack are playing huge minutes to compensate missing Nakubuwai? Wardle Hughes and Smith from a small squad.
Holmes had his best game for us last night but O’Donnell Mulhern Asiata Amone and Ipape are doing 60-70 min shifts to compensate the bench.
-
There was a lot of stress in both sets of fans yesterday, Wakey knew it was a must win to have a realistic chance of staying up and Leigh to possible secure SL status.
If Leigh are secure come May then I expect some fireworks in next years recruitment with 2 Huge Marquees taking the potential to the next level
Salford fan shares and financial issues.

A straight forward share issue should have been done imo, you can’t have Bob with £100 in getting the same voting rights as Julie with £10000 in.
