Wakey are doing the basics right in the Championship - scoring img points and generating interest. The ST deal was numbers not cash designed with the gamble being they buy a ST in SL, but focussed on family not adults and families enjoy the occasion with the result being secondary to a degree.

We need a clear picture from the club as to how we really stand. If we still have land then there could be a sterp forward there in income. If we can't pay outstanding debts in full then arrangements could be made to pay by instalments. The postion of the club is not clear in terms of assets, income, creditors and debtors. A clear picture would give us what actions to take to rectify the position.
I believe it’s all secured against some land

The name Leigh Power Slap has a certain ring about it.
No Town names just the move so it could be The ground strikers v the naked chokes or the Sprawls v the Double legs. Can’t wait for the new dawn

Last week wasn’t it or it looked like it last Saturday - no pathetic sin bins, low penalty count and six agains, fast ptb and a fast game. Just coincidence I assume, anyway Dana White is looking for a GB/USA/Canada URL break away after meeting with Tom Aspinall and Derek at LSV 2 weeks ago £10m per club funded tv deal-

Disappointed to see Leigh seemingly become another club to not announce their attendance last week. Despite having what looked like a healthy crowd in again.

I enjoyed watching Leigh last season (apart from the two games when they deserved to beat us). They move the ball around really well and spread it out quickly.
Id imagine the pitch will be very heavy, roll on summer. I wonder if Saints will go with “whoever scores the try can go for goal”, id rather Makinson didn’t bother. We struggled on our left after losing Leutele last season, but he will be approaching full fitness after the Hudds game. Hudds simply slowed the ptb, markers not square and moved up early out wide. Smith never stopped it and we made countless errors forced to play it tighter.
Expect a loss tonight but hopefully a faster and more enjoyable game
-
Saints by plenty, Lam did some weird things v Hudds and didn’t change them. Amone is a huge loss but hopefully Trout is fit and Halton starts with O Donnell leaving a bench of Dwyer Norman Hughes Holmes
we can’t afford Bens small minutes tonight with Amone missing

This could be a great opportunity to rid the sport of the law suit by clubs leaving the RFL to sign up with the new comp and leaving the RFL to dwindle and die thus unable to settle with the claimants and insurance would be with the same company as NRL????

Seems to be a lot of folk unhappy with not only the ‘soft’ red cards but also the unintended consequences this is having vis a vis gamesmanship.
The fake ‘head injury’ incident in the Catalans vs Warrington game was particularly egregious.
Maybe these people should not be instantly dismissed as flatcappers and the like?
Fake head at Leigh also got someone a yellow - the inconsistency was shocking this weekend gone, rules tweaked to speed up a game being applied and ignored in equal measure. What is apparent is that the spear tackle is now legal.

Not deep enough H and to be fair, Smith allowed Hudds to mess the ruck around good and proper. We was sledged and fell for it hook line and sinker. Not one player stuck out.
Not liking the new rules one bit. Leutele had no control whatsoever in tackling the man so what next ? It really is pathetic and I can see players manipulating it to the extent to getting opposing players a yellow card.
Out coached on and off, we all know Smith ruins the spectacle so it was no surprise when he did as he always does- for some reason we didn’t do the same at the ruck especially with Hilly telling him how it should be, followed by that despicable human Connor when he went off

1,150 Huddersfield fans then
Best Hudds support at Leigh since 2002? Or whatever it was - you were given 650 seats and filled about 400 but deserved the win

2 key calls first half and losing Ipape hurt badly.
Huddersfield dictated that game, their 11 and 7 were superb. Moylan was ineffective -
Have Hull FC started the season with the worst spine in SL??

I don't have an issue with this tbh. Clubs live and die by those kind of decisions, and they have to live with the culture they create. But I do think they should have been firmer in their press release.
I'm ok with forgiving, I'm ok with supporting and going down whatever route they choose, but I do think it is a little tone deaf to only mention support and not any kind of condemnation/punishment to highlight that as a club they do not condone this behaviour.
Leigh have a responsibility to not only the player, but their brand, employees, fans etc. I think they have got it slightly wrong in their communications here.
I totally agree with the press release comment btw the stance seems to say we were aware, we have dealt with it and we have nothing more to comment. More meat on dealt with it was needed.

Any updates on these for expected numbers? Hull derby figures seem to have gone quiet since 17,500 announced. What is the capacity at the Jungle nowadays? if 8,000 is the lowest figure that would be a good start.
Leigh won’t hit 8k v Hudds - expect over 7K home fans
-
There is a long list of high profile soccer players done for DD who play the following week. There is a smaller list of soccer players going to jail then playing on release. There are a number of sports stars who get banned get little support and take their own life’s. Zak has been brilliant for Leigh and especially its fans, and as this had been known about for weeks the hierarchy will have debated its actions probably with the senior player group - Zak seems to be a key part of the group, albeit a very stupid but lucky one

Looking at the availability on the ticket site compared to games last year, I reckon about 6k sold so far which is what we got for the fixture against Hudds last year and tickets only went on general sale today. 8k should hopefully be doable.
Not much left in the West with East selling well since tickets made available to non members at 4pm today- just bought a few more and it seems the away end is not the away end so Hudds hordes will be allocated East blocks to free tickets up

I’m not a fervent traditionalist but rugby league is poorer for the demise of ball-playing loose forwards like Pinner.
John Asiata at Leigh is the closest in SL today

Derek and the Wakey lad probably have a huge thing in common - no point filling in small losses over a long time but winning nowt when you can throw the gamble in a short space and have a much higher chance to succeed
