It's an unusual deal this because when a player is under contract, which George is, a transfer fee is normally involved. This doesn't appear to be the case here. As I see it, if George doesn't make it at Wigan & never makes their first team, the deal won't have cost Wigan a penny. But if he makes it big time & becomes a regular, they are paying us a fee per appearance so will we get recompensed by them for as long as George plays, 10 years potentially? Or is that just for 2025? Also if he plays on loan for us in 2025 as is suggested, will he be training with us during the week or at Wigan? I'm not sure the other lads at Oldham would be too happy if he gets picked to play on a Sunday if he's been training there all week. Guess all will come to light in due course.

Patience is a virtue my friend ! -
Your season really hit the buffers when you sacked your coach mid-season. Seemed a bizarre decision at the time & has proved the case.

Funny one this, Oldham fan here, and without doubt the best ref we had all this year was a woman!!!!! Tara Jones the name, also Saints no 9 in the womens game. -
Are the rumours true that most of the Swinton lads will be on holiday when the Keighley (or Rochdale) game comes round??

Wtf is this sudden 'entente cordiale' between us Roughyeds & the old enemy ! Seriously, best of luck to the red, white & blue in the quest for promotion. The A627 derby in the Championship sounds very appealing.

What a magnificent day Sunday was. The photo below is fantastic. I saved it to my desktop and blew it up. The elation on the faces of the fans is a joy to see.

For a minute I thought we'd re-signed Fieldhouse
-
And wtf is JPT and Chapelhouse , has the excitement got to you mate
-
Agreed, would seem daft to bring him back too quick against these.

Think we'll have well over 1,000 fans on Sunday, awesome to see. If/when we win, the Sandy Lane end should explode when the players come to applaud us

Riddy's ankle injury was described as serious , not sure if he's broken it.

Great to see Steve Molloy , Lucas Onyango & Valu Bentley at BP yesterday collecting their Heritage Certificates. As great as things are looking now (yesterday was thumping good !) its good to see those who wore the red & white proudly in the past being remembered too. Up the Yeds!

Was surprised O'Keefe was left out on Sunday, unless he's injured again?
-
I'd be surprised if he leaves Ellis out - Astley on the bench for me.

Mate, you really do have to stop blaming referees! It's tiresome. We were outplayed on the day as you correctly stated. My view is that Keighley out-enthused us, probably because a win was essential for them, otherwise we'd have had one foot in the Championship before May was out. Now, it will be a fight to the death and I am confident we will beat them at BP in the next game in July. That will be a fixture not to miss! Back to the penalties conceded, that's our lack of discipline, not the referee's fault.

We should definitely not underestimate this mob in their own backyard. From their 21 man squad most of their big guns appear to be there. They pushed Bradford Bulls very close in the 1895 Cup and will be highly motivated. The loss to Hunslet was a blip. We need to match them in the desire stakes or it could be a giant banana skin. Having said that, I'm sure we will. COME ON OLDHAM.

Don't forget we'll have beaten you twice as well

Absolutely!
