So every chance we'll be playing Widnes again IF we beat Midlands. What a shambles. We should have played Barrow yesterday (3v6) , a far less difficult game than Widnes, as Doncaster proved by beating them 72-0. Donny's reward for finishing a place below us was getting the weaker team! If we do have to go to Widnes in a fortnight (no disrespect intended to Midlands at all) , what a game that promises to be. We'll be away from home, underdogs, with a point to prove, the pressure will all be on them. Our away support will be out in force. Yes we do have to win on Sunday first & hope Widnes lose at Newcastle.

Big call to leave Tom Forber out. I think he'll go with Tom & Cole on the bench & leave Noah High out. Day to play middle (prop) for part of the game. Strong squad more than capable of beating a leggy Widnes (after their big effort on Monday).

The Oldham players involved themselves in scuffles to show the opposition they weren't going to be bullied or walked all over. Kilshaw is excellent in instilling this bit of "mongrel" into his sides. I definitely wouldn't blame the ref's leniency in our players' actions.

I've just watched the match again & I think the abuse the ref has received is uncalled for. I don't reckon he got much wrong, perhaps could have sinbinned one of their guys in the first half. But there were a lot of 50:50 calls that went our way, after Drinky kicks he gave us the ball at the scrum twice, penalty under the sticks for offside & two six-agains. With the penalties against Nisbet for tackling their guys in the air, he was right both times. Neither of the spear tackles were red card offences, a yellow for persistent offending yes. On a day when we played so well & beat the best mob in the league, it's a shame when people go on about poor refereeing, when more often than not he was right. I expect they'll have brought Forber in to play on the left wing at a fraction of the cost Dixon is costing them.

I think most Yeds fans disliked Kilshaw because of his time coaching Hornets & Swinton, especially being as he created two good teams there for a while who beat us more often than not. Always thought he was a good coach.

I think you're going back maybe 15 years? The guy in question wasn't wanted by the board at the time I believe, for reasons known only to them!

Long story - big fall-out with Oldham Athletic over money, hence the move to Bower Fold. And as for the crowd, yes very disappointing. Lots of Oldham fans refuse to travel the 10 miles or less because it's not in Oldham! Sad but true. Super League was a possibility whilst we were at Boundary Park, unfortunately not now.

As an Oldham fan, please don't lose heart in your team. We have a wealthy backer who has brought in a lot of well-paid players, still part-time but nevertheless quality players. We put a similar score on Hunslet who were in the Championship last year, just a week earlier. It's great that Cumbria still has 3 clubs fighting in this new Championship this year, if anything went wrong at any of them, it would be a disaster for RL. Keep supporting Town, better days will be ahead, these things move in cycles. By the way, did I see James Trafford supporting Town yesterday, thought my eyes were deceiving me! Good luck!
