  1. Thanks Ian, so hopefully we will scrape together a 17 with a prop and half on the bench. Just stumbled on the home game in April where we gave them a 18 point lead and edged it 20 to 18.
  2. The 21 man squad has just been announced, and of these we have separately been informed that holidays and student internationals will prevent 6 of these being unavailable. Unless I am stupid or things have changed we will only have 15 players tomorrow.
  3. Have we announced our squad yet or are we struggling to find the numbers.
  4. On the BBC website it quotes Jonty Gorley as saying Haven are in trouble and may fold if they don't get new funding. He and the other coaches and players have not been paid and they have lost 3 players. This was us last year and we were lucky to survive and lost players to them. We started a Just giving page and our fans and many in the rugby league community dug deep and raised over £10k. Most of our players took a pay cut and we rebuilt using local players, and live to face another season with optimism. Without Haven we would be in a bad state for local rugby league. Have they asked for donations or for their players to to take a pay cut. I questioned recently how they could afford their imports from Fiji, PNG and the many aussies. Have they gambled too much to stay in the championship. I expect they will stay up but will they have a team or club next year. I like many townies certainly hope so, but is it just bad management and budgeting.
  5. Sounds like Scott and his faithful followers may get a game when their down in Chester.!!! Anyone no if the Crusaders have the same issues.
  6. No Sean Sabutey either, so 2 loans from Wigan. Jj Key back in the 17, but we must be down to the bear bones. Did we know that players were on holidays when we agreed to this revised date, and will this be factored into a revised date for the Oldham game.
  7. Well even better and as Mr Unicorn says there's nothing like a sunny day anThe bod ad a run of wins to tempt long lost townies back. The BOD have worked wonders this season with events sponsors and trying to keep the stadium and its facilities in use for far more that this leagues 9 home gates would normally bring. This is not lost on the local populous who are desperate to have a feel good factor in these difficult economic times. The decision to offer entry for a fiver to boost the crowd for the ladies match is to be applauded by us all. Once again well done bod and volunteers for your hard work and glad the results are been seen by community support through the gates and over the bars I am sure. UTT
  8. Great weather forecast for Sunday, full sun with a gentle breeze all day so hopefully encourage a great turn out for a full day of events.
  9. Brad recalled by Widnes stated on our website. We are trying to sign him and he wants to loin us so here's hoping.
  10. Well how do we all think for our next match. Hoping for a good game and a good town performance. Hope we have retained Brad for an extra week or 3.
  11. Saw that as I was following the results. Did Dewsbury weaken the team or are we better than we think. As you say bonkers.
  12. What an incredible performance by Town and the local rugby community.
  13. After our performance against a poor Midlands team are we more encouraged for an away game at Oldham. We now have good pace on the field, and inspiration in the 9 and 7 shirts, and a calming influence with Carl back. We are missing a few forwards but seem to have some depth thre also. I think we will be competitive at least and the lads must be growing in confidence.
  14. Sounded a good performance with good pace on the edges. Good cameo again from Blaine and kicking from Walker. Is he going to be as good as Boxer. Feel we will now be competitive next week.!!!
  15. Sounded a good performance with good pace on the edges. Good cameo again from Blaine and kicking from Walker. Is he going to be as good as Boxer. Feel we will now be competitive next week.!!!
  16. I hope all goes well for you and you get a good turn out for such a good cause, after all the clubs efforts. I hope the weather is better than the forecast.
  17. Was aware from posts that they are slow getting the ball to the wings and are better defensively than in attack. Correct me if I'm wrong as I rely on the radio mostly living away.
  18. We now have 2 good wingers and a back up for 2 games including Oldham. Hope our centres get the ball to them.
  19. Think the weather and dad's day will affect the gate unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong as the board really try hard.
  20. Well know one else seems to know either?
  21. Thanks, yes looked it up after I posted Not related but listened to the Haven game as ours was off last Sunday. They now have a Fijian to add to Dion Aiye and several aussies. How do they fund all the imports.?
  22. Thought it was to be 2:30 as cornwall
  23. Yes we sympathise after our fixture list last year with months without a home game last year contributed in some way to our financial problems and exit from the championship Our away supporters are well known to travel in strength so we would have brought 50 plus down. Maybe the rfl will pass on some of the profits from the magic weekend down to the 3rd tier where it is needed most.
  24. Game postponed till weekend of 15/16 July, due to pitch availability problems.
