Frankly I'm getting a bit sick of people insinuating that having either an Aussie or English ref will make any difference in the Ashes. Let's be clear, NRL and RFL refs are trained to the highest standards and are under far too much scrutiny to compromise the levels of integrity required for the job. Should the games have neutral refs? Maybe. Does it matter? No Things might have been different in the past but there are far too many eyes on refs performance now for them to show any sort of bias.

We were undone by this in the CC in the Covid year by Anthony Gelling's bonce. Rules are rules though I suppose.

The gap in SL has widened again, so much that pundits now consider a lower SL team beating a higher SL team a huge shock. We used to be in a place where it was, that any team beating any team wouldn't be that big a shock but I feel that shocks are becoming ever more rare.
