  1. Saints should have been down to 12 before that, cats had a fair try disallowed too. Cynical slowing down of ptb all game, cheap shot from Knowles etc. etc.
  2. I think that boat sailed when Whitehaven played yesterday. Agree though that all games should have kicked off at same time.
  3. If Swinton hadn't imploded in the last 2 minutes at Newcastle or taken a couple of kickable penalties at London instead of running it, we would be safe. If we go down noone to blame but ourselves. Table doesn't lie at the end of the season.
  4. Not sure that was solely the fault of the 2013 World Cup, rather the fact that anything the game does in the UK is almost totally dependent on the money from the one major TV deal we have, as we seem unable to attract sustained investment from elsewhere and the value of the TV deal has fallen through the floor, and what is left has basically been concentrated at the SL end of the sport, then the funding for development officers in many places, particularly outside the heartlands, like Bristol, London etc, of the sport has gone.
  5. I don't think this is new, there are lots of giveaways, ballots for different sports tickets, if you are a Sky VIP, you just enter via My Sky. I had 2 free tickets for the Grand Final at OT last year in the Stretford End. I guess they are choosing to advertise it more this year.
  6. Danny Wilson, in his pomp unplayable on other days invisible
  7. Massive result for Swinton at Widnes, didn't see that coming after last 2 weeks and Widnes stuffed us first two times we played them this year. Seems that there is still some fight in there after all. Well done Lions
  8. I have to agree, it is appalling, so bad I am thinking of supporting the Roos.
  9. I know, totally crass comment. They have given it everything tonight. Shame we can't get a team or two into the NRLW, that would make a huge difference.
  10. I am sure we are in good hands, after all we have Atkins as video ref. A man who thought two guys tipping an 18 stone prop forward upside down and trying to drive him headfirst into the ground wasn't a red card.
  11. Which is why I always have to laugh at Wilkin and his insights, well I guess he certainly has experience of how not to do it, having being part of the 2008 debacle. It was great at the Emirates, despite the result, watching people being drawn into the drama as the game went on, and the atmosphere in last 15/20 minutes was fantastic.
  12. He also won't send any of them off unless they actually paralyse someone. Klein has been the best referee in the tournament by a street, he was excellent on Friday. Sutton was flaky on Saturday, albeit for both sides.

  14. No mention that the semi final in 2013 was a double header, so the joint attendance was pretty much the same. Not comparing like for like. Also not sure what competing events there were in 2013, Spurs, West Ham and England RU all at home at same time on Saturday. Economically the country is in a much worse position. People don't have the money, train travel is a lottery and expensive. I was lucky enough to go to the Emirates and despite the result it was a good event. You always want more fans but to say we have lost 25k fans is misleading and not necessarily true.
