I think Pembo is a really useful type of player, he is so versatile you could play him anywhere - perhaps not at prop though- he is as keen as mustard and really enthusiastic, Wardy in a couple of years would make a cracking 2nd row, he is strong and fast, seems to be scoring for fun on the wing which is great to see, as you say Joe Law is so consistent, Santi is a beast, never takes a backward step and always gives 100%, it is good to see Nikau Williams getting his mojo back, he is a class act but appeared to lose his confidence a bit at York, I like the look of Robert’s too. In fact I think all the players up at Newcastle are doing well and seem to be enjoying their rugby.

A very interesting and insightful article with some excellent points made. I know the players who are playing there will engage with the fans, the ones who played at York last season were a pleasure to talk to, every one of them had time for the fans, be they kids or adults, it makes people feel they belong to the club which is a bit different to just supporting them and I think that is peculiar to Rugby League. I really hope they do kick on and make a success of it up there, and it was nice that the efforts of the players and volunteers who kept the club going has been recognised, in that struggle there is definitely a parallel with how we came through the dark days not that long ago and who would have thought we would be where we are now.

But you can’t let facts spoil the doom and gloom merchants stories, it suits them to denigrate the likes of York, who, as I have said previously, are doing remarkably well both on and off the pitch, especially with the ridiculously short timescale we had to build a team to compete in Super League, but credit to all those involved, we just got on with it, no moaning, no excuses when things haven’t gone quite as planned, our coach sums up each game honestly and sometimes brutally. We have shown we are here to compete, even with one arm tied behind our backs!

40 - 16 final score, we aren’t that far away, we matched Saints for a lot of the game but class told in the end, and let’s be fair, so it should, the value in monetary terms of Saints compared to York is ridiculously one sided, but York have big hearts and not short of skill, but we still lack that last piece of the jigsaw. And we have at least 11 players out injured. A lot to be positive about.

Ata has done so many great things in this match and then he does that! which makes the scoreline more lopsided than it should have been. and to cap it al Jesse fails his HIA

2 cracking tries by Jesse Dee, 16 - 10 half time. some heroic defence by York , Two of Saints tries came after penalties unfortunately, but York finish the first half looking good and with their tails up we have had two chances in that half and nailed both. What a find Cody Hunter is, someone said our best scrum half was up at Newcastle, I am inclined to believe them.

Bit exposed on the left wing, discipline needs sorting out, Saints very quick at the play the ball. Penalties equal tries.

No, but being a well run club that lives within its means, does.

If that is the case then it is good news, but it is going to be a hard struggle in the Championship to get decent crowds, hopefully once they are in Super League, which I think is a foregone conclusion, they will get crowds befitting their status. I am and always have been a fan of London even going back to the Fulham days when our star player signed for them but I am still to be convinced there is an appetite in London for a professional Rugby League team, I hope I am proved wrong and this ownership group can do what the others haven’t. Maybe now that Rugby League people are involved it will be different.
