  1. I don't think (if he is fit) our 'marquee' signing would be on the bench, if fit he has to play, even though I thought Pembo did a terrific job as a stand in half, as for AJ & Brown, unfortunately AJ hasn't really performed well when he has played this season for some reason, but maybe it is time to give him another go and give Brown a rest but again, I don't think that will happen. Harrison has to stay at Full Back.
  2. USUALLY ON SALE AT BACK OF EAST STAND JUST TO THE RIGHT OF THE TURNSTILES WHEN YOU COME IN
  3. from where I was sat it looked like there was no attempt to tackle whatsoever it was a blatent shoulder charge which at the very least should have been a penalty and 10 minutes in the bin , at the start of the season it would have been a red card without question. how none of the officials saw it is beyond comprehension, it is to be hoped the match review panel picked it up or the whole thing is a joke.
  4. I thought Lilly looked very ordinary yesterday not like he usually is against us, in fact The Bulls looked more like the way we have been playing up to yesterday, still, all teams have off days . The biggest problem we have had up to now is we haven’t had a settled team on the pitch two weeks running plus we still have 9 players who would be first choice picks sat on the sidelines through injury, credit to the kids who have come in though, especially Harrison and Pemberton.
  5. Well said,I thought Jordan Lilley was kept under control and not allowed to play his usual game, he is usually our nemesis. Halves seem to be in short supply, we had four at the start of the season , we are down to one fit one now.
  6. Brilliant performance, Harrison absolutely rock steady at full back, Pemberton played the best since he signed, Tommo, well Tommo was Tommo enough said , Harris outstanding, Keinhorst top notch, I could go on, if we had played like that in the opening games we would have come away with more wins, even the mighty Trin might have been kept in check, the discipline today was far better even on the back of some very ordinary refereeing. It obviously meant a great deal to the guys out there too, great to see and against Bradford too, it doesn’t get much better than that.
  7. I echo those sentiments completely
  8. Any team that takes to the field without 9 first choice squad players is going to struggle especially against Wakefield who have a playing budget in excess of £3million plus they are full time, there would be something seriously amiss if they hadn’t beaten us with room to spare. What concerns me more is that for a good portion of the game we lacked ideas, both in attack and defence, on a brighter note I think Hingano was excellent, we need him to keep fit and build on what he did , we need another Chris Clarkson or Tim Spears to direct play and tighten up the defence , we lack size and pace in the pack - their centres were bigger than our forwards and their forwards faster than our backs, it is still early days , but we do need to start winning.
  9. Personally I would have Jordy Thompson as Captain, I think Harris’s game has suffered since he was made captain, I would also play Harrison at Full Back, whilst Dagger is out. I don’t really get why we need all these different coaches either, fair enough having an assistant and maybe one of the senior players but to pay money out for the likes of Paul Cooke - no disrespect to him, in the Championship seems like madness to me. I also think the whole Myler thing has had an unsettling effect , from his signing to his apparent defection, along with all the speculation about his ‘father in law’. Time to move on now and turn the ship around.
  10. So they should giving the playing budget and full time against part time, it is hardly a fair contest but they are the cards we are dealt. No doubt next season when you are back in Super league normal service will be resumed and the Trin will be on the end of a few hammerings as last season.
  11. If we don’t get anything it just shows the value of a contract in rugby League these days, not to mention integrity. why am I not surprised.
  12. the way we are playing I'd let the Valks play Trinity and the Knights Fev Ladies,
  13. It looked wrong at the time and looks even more so now, surely someone has to be held to account over this !
  14. It’s not good is it, when players put there bodies on the line for these clubs the least that should happen is their contracts are honoured, most are part time and have a limited shelf life, for want of a better phrase. I am sure it is happening elsewhere too sadly. as usual us that pay to go through the turnstiles week in week out are kept in the dark. I hope Fordy knew what he was getting himself into.
  15. Is it lack of confidence or lack of desire, Hendo states that the was plenty of effort but that doesn't seem to show on the scoreboard. I go back to the question I asked last week, is all this talk of a take over affecting the players? I can’t see why it would as they are still there getting paid to perform, the only people I can see being worried are the coaching staff. we have been unlucky with injuries again and lost players through poor discipline which really doesn’t help. Still early days and Fev with all the money they have allegedly spent aren’t doing much better.
  16. It’s 2023 all over again, mounting injuries to supposedly star players, plus suspensions to make it worse, can’t buy a win and a look of total disarray, but on the bright side, in 2023 it did turn around, Look, I can’t help being an optimist, no matter how misguided it might be. seriously though, where do we go from here, next week would appear to be an impossible task……
  17. Still early days, some results not many would have seen coming especially Swinton at Toulouse, it’s hard to predict who will end up where in the table except Wakefield . We need to focus on discipline, and playing like a team which up to now we haven’t. Something is not quite right , last season, once we had got over the bad start we were playing some good rugby, there was confidence and a good team spirit, for some reason that appears to have changed, why - the majority of the team are the same. Are the rumours correct re the ownership is that unsettling the guys, if so, why? let’s hope we can put in a performance tomorrow that silences the critics.
  18. Hendo looks at Pemberton as a utility player , as he apparently does for a lot of the players he has signed, so don’t be surprised if he pops up in the halves or loose forward in the future even though he is hooker. I think he has a lot of potential.
  19. I can't believe the assault on Ronan Michael has gone unpunished, Hansen I thought deserved a Yellow card at best. No consistency in the discipline panel whatsoever.
  20. Only player who we might have spent anything on is Myler and I think that is only on his contract. Shocking display today, no direction or shape, Hingano looks like he picked up as injury to his thigh / groin . You don’t realise what Jordy Thompson does until he isn’t on the field, and my how we missed him and what he brings to the team today. Can’t argue with the red cards that Toulouse got ,the second one especially, can’t see Akouola getting anything less than 3 matches for laying out Ronan Michael, it was a shocker. On a positive note there should be a couple back for the trip to Barrow, but Hingano and Michael may not make it. I didn’t think Toulouse were anything special, but to be fair they didn’t need to be today.
  21. Agree totally, I must admit though I did think he was carrying a bit more weight than last time I saw him, but he still ran well, lasted the full 80 and his kicking was sublime and, as you say, a worthy man of the match.
  22. Bailey due back mid season apparently, when I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago he was raring to go and can’t wait to get back on the field. I think Levi may be around the same time. Agree with the discipline side, That is something we never had much of a problem with in the past ( apart from Pauli Pauli, but I think that was a combination of poor technique and his size as opposed to out and out foul play) I know things have been tightened up by the officials so we need to be even smarter.
  23. Believe it or not I am a big fan of AJ and I think he has been an outstanding signing, however I think if he plays on Sunday he would be targeted by the opposition coach as a weak link, rightly or wrongly.I certainly don’t think he is a scapegoat for the performance against Doncaster, there were plenty of more experienced players on the field who didn’t turn up, He is still young , and it could damage his confidence even more, surely. when there is more than adequate cover, it is better to take that pressure away, especially against a side that on paper will be vying for promotion along with Wakefield, that is why I wouldn’t play him.
  24. Hopefully Hingano will be playing alongside Harris, Jesse Dee should be back, could do worse than put Harrison at Full Back and have Lineham and Joe Brown on the wings, I think AJ needs to be ‘rested’ after the Doncaster game, and bring Severs onto the bench.
