  1. Players will come and go. Ross did ok but I'm sure we can upgrade. Early days 2 good retention signing in last couple of days. I'm confident we will see a better pack of forwards at Town next season under Mr Singleton.
  2. Pleased. Definitely was one i was hoping we would resign.
  3. I understand the frustration of all supporters.of which i am one. For far to long the results and performances of the team have drifted downwards until has fans we have accepted watching ###### end semi professional rugby-league and drawn into to nonsense of finishing above Whitehaven.as success. Be interesting to see if the club is serious about their pledge 2027. A Sustainability Championship club.
  4. Let's concentrate on who we have signed Galea, Leigh and Fraser in the backs. Obviously we haven't seen Fraser but would be interested to get the a honest view on the other 2.
  5. Fantastic result for the Ladies team and the Club. Moving forward as a general lover of Rugby League and Town . I think it would be disrespectful not to get down and watch these lasses next season if you can I have never watch them but would definitely consider it as a double headed game next season. Once again well done to all involved
  6. I'm just hoping Harry Fraser is an upgrade if he plays at 7. The wish list seems big after this season. Hoping we can make another Ollie Wilkes type signing. We definitely need a couple of older heads on the field. Given recent retirements.
  7. Key will be how the new coach goes. The overseas player signing and a couple of hardened ex super league or experienced championship players particularly in the forwards and hopefully a good group of local talent around them. Supporting Jamie Doran to build a winning team. The championship will be a tougher competition next season without doubt. Salford, Halifax will be better and possibly Featherstone rejoining .So without these signing i can't see being competitive. Thats just a honest opinion before anyone kicks off. UTT.
  8. Absolutely agree. Well done to the lasses.
  9. Great post. Alot of sense in your comments. A long term partnership is needed with a reliable Super League outfit and i agree London will be a different organisation to anything we have previously seen from them moving forward and I'm sure they will be Promoted without doubt. Also 1200 to 2000 attendances are definitely achievable at championship level. Given our catchment area. All we need is a winning team. Given results this season don't think the gates have been to bad.
  10. I started this topic so here are my final thoughts. I missed today's game due to being on holiday. Thats summer rugby for you!! Disappointing result again. Its clear that only winning 5 games in a League 1/ Championship transition season is way below expectations for everyone and frustrating for BOD given the efforts made promoting the club. So the postmortem can begin. What went wrong!!! The Dewsbury home game highlighted way to many deficiencies in the squad and then as the season panned out the total lack of coaching and the inability of in game management were exposed. Which was covered up with a smoke screen blamed on individual efforts and injuries. It was nonsense we were simply not good enough and not physical enough. Losing to Rochdale at home the other week that performance was shocking and highlighted the players had give up. Table doesn't lie and it makes bad reading for us but we get to go again next season and we get to play all the cellar dwellers once more. Haven have their day but I see a bigger picture. The new stadium is a massive step forward taking us finally into the 21st century. A springboard to new investment and sustainability and leaving our neighbours in a potting shed 8 miles down the road. Secondly credit to everyone involved in the creation of the Ladies team. Fantastic to see the forward thinking. New people playing the game and bringing new fans to the sport and the club. Recruitment is massive now. Overseas players will need to better than our current crop without doubt. Sadly the pool of local players switching between the 2 clubs is not great so who goes where is immaterial in my view. You get 50 percent of whats available. The rest is down to coaching and improvement. We need be a better coached unit with a bit more size and more rugby intelligence to play along side Doran maybe then I think we will OK.
  11. Doesn't matter who's on holiday its been a circus all season. If beating Whitehaven is finishing on a high god help us.
  12. How bad was that !!! Dreadful no disrespect to Rochdale but 2 very poor sides today. The lowest point of a woeful season. The squad, the coaching nothing as worked this season. Regardless of injuries, individual in game errors, the bottom line is we haven't been anywhere near good enough and the lack of in game match management as been our downfall. Just hoping we can build a team around Jamie Doran next season and also hoping Harry Archer will be far better than this seasons overseas selection of players. Would keep Bear williams has he does the basics well. Zarren is good to watch in broken play but defensively not quite up to the mark but would still keep him because he would be a try machine in a better team. Lawther is a talent but I think he will move on. Good luck to Mr Singleton. Let's hope for much better next season UTT.
  13. We should win our last 2 home games. Going off recent performances at home and away. Town by 20 points.
  14. A whole structure of the the game as struggled since Fulham joining in 1980 i think. Then Cardiff and Carlisle then Sheffield . Mansfield marksman, Nottingham outlaws, Kent, Southend, south Wales and many others in different time order .Most tried and failed. The RFL have been unable to establish a creditable second tier for several seasons and this season is an example of that.
  15. Agree. Very unbalanced fixture format and why only play 12 teams home and away when there are 20 teams in the division. Surely another 4 games could have been played given all the blank weekends. Been a complete mess this season!!!
