  1. Fantastic match, but Batley V Fax games usually are the matches of the round, aren't they? Fax were well worth the win, without doubt I'm in full agreement with you though, regarding DR. The sooner we're rid, the better IMO.
  2. I've never minded loan deals if I'm honest. With Hooley, it was something that was always going to happen as part of the deal when he moved from Bulldogs to Rhinos, otherwise he'd be on duel reg at Bulls, wouldn't he? I've never been a fan of duel reg, though. In fact, i hate the idea of it, even when we used it. Although when we did, it was for players to come long term, rather than a run out for a Super League player who'll drop straight into a Championip squad ad hoc, and then they were usually young lads who weren't quite making the grade at that point. Are Fax in a duel reg agreement with anyone? The match got exciting at the end, through I think you'll agree. Losing a match and scoring the most trys is always annoying, though. Letting that one soft try in at the beginning and giving three penalties away in kicking distance are all errors that cost us.
  3. Player of loan from Leeds Rhinos, who signed Hooley from the Bulldogs at the end of last season.
  4. The Bulldogs Community Team have been working on a few special incentives for the participants of our Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. When each participant hits their £250 fundraising target, they will be entered into a prize draw, for a chance to win a signed Bulldogs shirt! PLUS... Batley Bulldogs have donated an hospitality box, for the London Broncos match on 25th June, as a prize for the participant who raises the highest amount of donations. The winner of the hospitality box will be able to bring 9 friends along to watch the match from a private sponsor box or from the lounge with a full hospitality package. Every participant in the challenge will be invited, as Community Team guests, to the Broncos match on the 25th June, so even if you don't win the hospitality box, everyone will still be able to get together, to hopefully celebrate a successful challenge. At half time, everyone who completed the challenge will be presented with a finishers medal and the winner of the shirt will be announced.
  5. I'll take that then, if they've got our odds down by 50%
  6. How do they compare to the odds at the beginning of last season?
  7. I take your point regarding Hull and Giants but it isn't really typical of the majority of past friendly matches. Everyone would love to see a full strength Saints or Rhinos at Mount but you also need to be realistic of how game plans can pan out against these type of sides in a friendly. It'd be a great tester but you'd probably struggle to try out those new training ground pieces. I'd be more interested in drawing them in the Chaenge Cup where it would be meaningful.
  8. When we played Huddersfield it was 100% academy. It's not really testing for a Championship side. Hull was mainly young lads with cameos from the big boys, which was better i suppose. Hunslet will gives us chance to try most players without travelling far. York v Batley will be good indicator for both sides. Last year's finalist V a contender.
  9. Been going for years. Known as headkeeping glasses.
  10. I thought the new pots were a success? They have headkeepers in don't they?
  11. Which player are you referring to? If anyone turned up and was disappointed that they couldn't buy their season ticket then that's on them. Its been well publicised that the season tickets will be available in January '23.
  12. How much would a topless barrister charge? I'm sure topless barista's would pull in a fair wage.
  13. Last season they couldn't see Batley making the Grand Final over Fev either so I'm not really fussed about that too.
  14. I don't see the issue with retaining the majority of a Grand Final reaching squad. You don't see St Helens swapping out so regularly. What we have lost we've replaced with players who are more than capable replacements. As for the Cougars recruitment I'm not really fussed over it. They're recruiting a bit like York did. Those that were big names who aren't getting offers to play at bigger clubs due to ageing and drops in form.
  15. Only thing that's happened here is pointing out to Phildog that there ARE opportunities to help with fundraising already in place, some of which are long-term. Nobody is forcing anyone to contribute to anything they don't wish to. If he decides he'd rather not, spend that extra few quid a month as he put it, that's his call.
  16. For the last few years we've run a very successful Bulldogs Toy Drive and the feedback we've had from it is very humbling when you consider how many people we've helped out with gift donations. We are running it again this year and we've already had so many requests back from the likes Kirklees and other outreach programmes which help families at this time of year. We understand this is as difficult a year as any for many people but if you can help with donations, or maybe you know someone our gift donations will help, please get in touch.
  17. Believe it or not Phildog, not all fans are as charitable as you. I've heard many complaints that the club ask for too much extra money from the ticket buying fans. I don't believe that the case and the opportunities are there for those who can and wish to donate. Nobody has their arms up their back but if more people did donate to BISSA, this is how the players are paid for without endangering the clubs own coffers. You've already pointed out Phildog, that you're a member, you'll know full well how it works and who it pays for. We wouldn't have had Hooley, Gilly, White or Leaky without BISSA. I'm sure Colin wouldn't mind you raising the amount of your monthly BISSA donation if your money is burning such an hole in your pocket. I imagine Kevin will be pleased that your helping. The club give their opportunity for people to donate via War Chest. £100 a season or £5 per win. Here you go, your son in law is waiting for his first sponsor.
