  1. There were also flyers in the Sheffield programme and a couple of newsletter emails. It was also read out over the PA at the match on Tuesday. I guess a good question would be "How do you consume your Rovers news?" What are the best forums to publicise club events?
  2. I just wish more people would support it. It is not about whether you like the shirt design or quality. Last night was an opportunity to put any question you liked to players past and present, coaching staff and meet with the directors but the turnout was very poor. I think those that did go had a good night and those that didn't really missed out. (I am making a general comment here, not asking people to justify that they were working etc)
  3. In my opinion we are a different team with Field at loose forward. He provides leadership in the forwards and should be the first name on the sheet in the pack. Finn was MoM for me last night, he is certainly a better player than in his first spell and will start most games at Scrum Half or Hooker. I like Dobek at hooker, his timing of the pass to get things moving is excellent and Lee coming off the bench challenges the opposition. The bench is important nowadays and I think Jesse on there adds cover for for centre, Stand-off and Back Row, along with two props and Lee gives a lot of options. One think is for sure... Jesse, Kain, Lee, Dobek, Briggs and Finn cannot all start - so it is a nice problem to have.
  4. Watched the DVD last night - Stuart I was impressed I was also impressed with our play... Mr Morrison and Mr Dickens were particularly good. I also think Dobek's performance at hooker was good. His quality and timing of pass to first receiver is excellent. Also he had played the day before!
  5. Mr Taylor... send me a PM. It has your name all over it.
  6. Cheers mate... I was talking to your Dad last night. Top Man. You will have to say hello when you see me... I honestly do not know who you are.
  7. Just realised that I am double booked for the HKR friendly so cannot make it. Any takers to have a go on the mic. It really is simple, just think aloud and say what you see. If you are interested please send me a PM. Thanks, Martin
  8. Comparing to last year, I think Barrow and Halifax will be stronger, we *should* be stronger, Widnes are weaker, Sheffield over performed, Haven will be weaker, Leigh and Batley stronger... so my punt would be: Barrow Halifax Fev Leigh Widnes Sheffield Batley Dewsbury Haven Keighley Let's see... Whatever happens it will be a cracking league and I cannot see any club running away with it. Apart from maybe Keighley I expect that any club is capable of an upset or two. Home form is the key. Our aim should be to go unbeaten at home.. becasue is will not be easy to go to many of those grounds and win.
  9. Thanks SELEBIAN. Yes Quick was wearing no. 3 that day. I know Terry well and he was actually the source of these programmes. All the answers are of course in the archives at the club, but I know some of the folks on here will save me a trip down to the ground.
  10. OK all you fev historians. I am sat with 3 programmes that I need help dating. First one is a match versus Bradford Northern. It is a single A4 piece folded in half and the rovers team that day was Blackburn, Crabtree, Davis, Lambert, Altass, Gilbertson, Russell, Hemingway, Wood, Welburn, Kent, Reynolds and Payne. Second one is from the same Era. It was an opening Fixture on 23rd Aug against Keighley, but I do not know the year. Anyone got any ideas? Team was Barraclough, Blackburn, Quick, Tennant, Stephenson P, Allman, Higgins, Palmer, King, Maiden, Allision, Kent, Stephenson F. Third one is a 2nd Rd Challenge Cup game against Doncaster, but what date - sometime around 1962 I would say? Probably late March because there is mention of Joe Mullaney's wedding on 5th March. Team: Fennel, Waterworth, Cooper, Hunt, Jordan, Mullaney, Fox, Dixon, Ward, Hockley, Clawson, Lambert, Clifft. My collection is growing nicely, so if anyone has any old rovers progs that they do not want I will always find a new home for them and pass on any extra's ans swaps to the club shop :-)
