  1. Its that time of year again as the new season kicks off this weekend with Batley Bulldogs V Halifax Panthers , 1st league game of the season .

Will run it as previous years where you vote 1 - 2 - 3 for MOM and voting will say open for 7 days to allow anyone not able to watch the game live but take advantage of BISSA selling the dvd of the game for the pricely sum of £5 which is excellent value in some places you can't get a pint of ale for that and if last season is owt to go on then even more enjoyable than imbibing a pint of frothy ale is watching a bulldogs victory .

as prev voting is open to all that attend the game or watch it on any media

We realise they're a bit later than usual this year which has been down to a few different factors, but we'll make sure that everyone has them in time for Christmas, which normally means a few nights driving round dropping by hand but we don't mind that at all.

    does that include Redditch 🙂

  3. thought they had got rid of that, worst idea that RFL ever came up with, make teams have a- teams then they will be able to keep players match fit, maybe if it was used as it was intended in bringing through young players who maybe not ready for SL but need to play at a higher level than reserves to bring them on possibly a case but not so seasoned SL professionals as we have seen at the past at quite a few that use dual reg ,one club in particular then it creates an unlevel playing area.

  4. Coventry Bears have rebranded to Midlands Hurricanes to be based in South Birmingham at Birmingham and Solihull Bees ground at Portway literally just off junc 3 of M42, Rog T will have here many times on his trips to Redditch, with a move to Alexander stadium in 2023 which is been rebuilt for 2022 commonwealth games, to appeal to a larger audience . They have another backer on board as well as Alan Robinson who was in charge of Coventry Bears who runs the club just like our great chairman Kev .

Some good signings already for the season ahead with ex bulldogs Simon Bowering and Anthony Bowman signed up , no idea about Scotty as yet as he was assistant player coach last season for the Bears . Looking forward to seeing a few games as only 2 mile up the road from me and also where my team New Ravens are based as well so maybe a few doubleheader games. Hopefully some will be on a saturday so then get a full weekend of RL watching the mighty Bulldogs as well , dont know what the future missus will say but got her to a couple of games this past season and she enjoyed the games.

Yes it was Lyles. We used to take bets on weather they would get us there  before kick-off or break down. They broke down 5 times that I can remember, in the late 60's early 70's.

yes number of times waiting at junc 17 m62 for supporters bus to pick me up and have police stop to tell me that its broken down and they were sending another one on its way , Harry Townley organizing them . good days .

We have had some flyers on our wings at times.

There was one I believe used to used to race in the PowderHall Sprint in Glasgow, it was a race for money so the athletes couldn't take part amateur status and all that snobbery.

I believe it was Jack Hemmingway, there used to be an 100 yds sand track at the bottom of the cricket field.

    Jack Hemmins

  7. TOM GILMORE - well done Tom well deserved.

thank you all for taking part and will hopefully present Tom his trophy at players awards night once its been decided when.

shows what a great season we have had when 19 of the squad featured in the 1 - 2 3 at least once during the season and was a close contest at the top with pivotal players who are all signed back on for next season.

Some great deals from Manchester to Carcassonne on Ryan Air.

Fly out Friday morning return Monday.

Carcassonne is a fantastic place and just a short train journey of 45 minutes from Toulouse.

can concur with that as did Stansted to Carcassonne last year and got train for the game week before covid shutdown, beautiful walled city and airport is only 10 mins bus ride into the city

    Any highlights anywhere.

    ask PD 🙂

that last 10 mins was torture watching on TV, was having to get up and do things ,so what it was like on the terraces and what my neighbours think with all the cheering when Hall scored the try that sealed it

  15. after taking the 4th spot after beating Fax last week, Bulldogs get rewarded with a home tie against John Kears Bulls in 1st round of the play-offs , hopefully home advantage will see the Bulldogs through away to either Fev or Toulouse depending on fax whitehaven result in front of SKY cameras.

voting 1 2 3 as usual and open to all that see the game either live or on SKY and open for 7 days

  16. if Whitehaven beat fax and we beat Bulls, we will play at Fev as we will  be the highest placed team left and Whitehaven will go to Toulouse as they will be lowest team left.

C'mon Fax put the Cumbrians in their place.
