York
in Oldham RLFC
All 3 of our injured players will be missed, but I think Kopczak is the biggest loss.

Excellent performance.
On the three games I have seen, I think we have a very good centre in O'Keefe.
Agree he has shown in a couple of games now that he is ever alert. Also looks solid in defence.

Lets hope London field a strong squad. Will be a good gauge to where we are at.

Adam Hughes was brilliant for us. Remember the interception try v Barrow at Craven Park. I think that might have been a playoff game
Agree the partnership between Adam Hughes and Lucas Onyango was good.

I think we have over the years had some excellent 2nd Row forwards. Already mentioned are Andy Goodway, Bob Lindner and Mick Worrall. But in my opinion, my favourite of them all was Bob Irving.

If you can get to Huddersfield, it is £2 on the 184 Bus to Oldham town centre. It is then a 35 min walk to the ground. That may suit the Yorkshireman in you.

We are obviously going to be there to be shot at, with the squad we have put together. My hope is we come through and do as expected. The signings including the coach have created a lot of anticipation amongst the fans. The season just can't come fast enough.

Looks like we have a full season, playing Hornets.

With the squad we have signed, is anyone worried that Matty Peet may want to borrow them all on dual reg?

THERE has been all this talk about Owen Farrell recently potentially joining Wigan Warriors, but little attention has been paid to George Ford. After all,...
Basically hints that George may eventually change to RL, but not yet. Also mentions Mike's other two sons, who have RU coaching positions at Doncaster and Bury St Edmunds, and there may be an opportunity for opposed training sessions with either or both.

How did the under 15/16's get on this morning?

Pre-SL and Sky the central distribution was minimal - levelling down for all. Where might we be if that hadn't changed?
Only Wigan were full time at that time. Would they have been able to sustain that, or would other clubs eventually try to emulate them? Remembering the product then, it was not worse to watch, I would even say it was better, as it was not as robotic, as the game has become now.

That's essentially what we had in various forms pre-Super League. How much money was coming in then? If you go to a scenario where clubs can choose F/T or P/T, the F/T clubs will naturally rise to the top (a 'Super League', if you will), and the P/T clubs would end up in the bottom echelon (it could be called 'the Championship'). In the meantime, no one will pay to televise the ensuing carnage that would occur with regular F/T vs P/T matches. The game would simply wither and die.
Pr-Super League the structures attempted to sustain all clubs. Now the structure only attempts to sustain the 12 clubs in the elite league, and leaves the rest to fend for themselves. Only supporters of SL clubs probably think that this is just and fair.

I would think one or two will be worried playing is next season. This team would hold its own in the championship
Agree entirely, our recruitment looks like someone on the board knows where we will be competing next season.

Why not merge the championship and league 1, and just give the clubs the funding they would have got in their intended division. It would at least give the league 1 clubs the fixtures they need to survive, and they would make more money from increased revenue from playing the championship teams.
Then the season after the money could be distributed evenly across the board.

I remember the season of an 8 team division. The teams knew each other so well, they just snuffed each other out, producing the most boring season of rugby I ever watched.

I don't like the idea of going up without earning promotion. But I think continuing with three divisions will cripple the remaining league 1 teams.
Following Rugby League becomes an habit, and with so few clubs in league 1, it will be difficult to form an hobbit when game only happen every now and again, creating a really disjointed season.

Does anyone know the outcome of yesterdays meeting?

Orchestrated by an Oldhamer, Chris Hough made the difference in that game.

RL at this level is a farce. With dual reg, loan players etc. Gone are the days of knowing who all your players are. This along with short term contracts, does not allow youngsters to tag someone as their favourite player, as they are usually gone the season after.

There are plenty of rumours circulating about the possible demise of London Skolars. If this sadly does happen, where will that leave the structure of League 1? Will there be enough teams to sustain RL at this level, or would there be the necessity to just have one division below SL?

Darryl Powell would be one that would raise my eyebrows.

Hope for a bit of luck in the fourth time of asking.
Are there any coaches going and if so what time are they leaving Oldham, and from where?
The Yeds Supporters Group are organising coach travel to the Eco Power Stadium for Sunday's massive game against Doncaster, 3pm kick off.Email theyedsgroup@gmail.com to register your interest.- 1

A bit convoluted. More than likely if we make it to the final, we will have to play either Doncaster or Hunslet twice. Unless either Workington or North Wales win through.

Thought we struggled in the second half against them in the 1895 cup. Andrade caused us a lot of problems and we have to remember they did not play Ridiyard and McNally, also they now have Emmy Whittle with a point to prove. Could be a big test for us.
