I thought I was using raw. It says that on my camera.

I don't like mucking about too much. It smacks of trying to make a bad picture good. I know what I want when I take the picture.

I've never enjoyed my photography as much since I got into digital.

Yes, your camera will be shooting in RAW, however to get the image on here it needs to be converted to JPG.

JPG is what is known as a 'lossy' format. When something is saved in JPG the image is compressed to reduce the file size. You will have started with something like a 16Mb RAW file and that had an image size something like 5,000 pixels x 3,000 pixels.

That has been reduced to a 680 x 1200 file of 130k. The result is that detail is lost in the process, the missing bytes mean the image becomes 'softer'. The usual thing to do following the conversion process is to sharpen the image to restore detail.

If you continually save a jpg image it will become visibly degraded as every time you save it the process is repeated. Therefore its best to work in a none 'lossy' format such as TIF until editing is completed. Then when ready re-size your image to the optimum for what you are doing with it. Convert to JPG, sharpen and then save.

Any chance you can point the camera the other way, I want to see just how stylish the office space is.

Ill make it a priority next time I'm walking up the Headrow.

First ever attempt at a stitched panorama, taken handheld as I didn't have access to a tripod (and you can't take them in anyway!).

Cheers. 2000+ images to plough through from the 3 weeks, so I'd suspect I'll add a few more as I get round to it!

Three weeks?  I bet your dog was starving when you got back.

No, but that cats were trying to move in next door.

A bit of natural symmetry.

Awful pointing.

To be brutally honest, the roofing wasn't up to much either.

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.
