Thanks for sharing those, Padge.

I had forgotten what a fine range of buildings the city has, and it is good to be reminded of the cathedral's magnificent ceiling.

Happy new year to you - and indeed all TRL forum contributors.

Cheers WWD

The Cathedral is a fine building, I was amazed that I had never heard of it (as architectural magnificence) until I actually visited it.

All the very best to your good self and your family.

New one for me tomorrow evening: photographing a basketball match.

It's South Coast Outlaws v Haywards Heath Panthers in the Sussex League.

We're a long, long, long way from the NBA.

Match starts at 8.15pm. The teams get access to the hall at 8.

I have a decent 24-70 f2.8 which should be more than up to the job (or would be if I was competent) as I can basically be on the sideline or just a couple of feet back from it. I've not taken pics in that hall before before but have played other sports in there and it's not *too* gloomy. We'll see how it all turns out anyway.

2.8 will be ideal!  just work with the focal length you got ! Its remarkable how forgiving the naked eye is to low light. you ll be surprised how high your ISO is gonna go 😄

I'll be very surprised now that the match has been cancelled owing to the visitors not being able to raise a team for tonight.

Ho hum ...

Took advantage of the beautiful March weather yesterday to have a little trundle around Bowland to take a few pics.

Thanks for sharing that, Padge.  Your excellent pics remind me what a wonderful - but not well known - corner of the world Bowland is.  I used to live just up the road, as it were, in Craven - first Long Preston and then Embsay.
