I like taking pictures of nature. I'm not a pro but photography is one of my hobbies. I started using Luminar software for photo editing. It is good alternative for photoshop, with its tools and filters I can make my photos look better. This time I tried to create black background on photo like in this tutorial https://skylum.com/blog/how-to-create-black-background-on-your-photos .

I really do like this idea. Something mildly humorous about this, but a clever representation of life.

I particularly like the 'five, six, pick up sticks' one.

I follow an artist called Tatsuya Tanaka on Twitter, who has a similar approach to miniaturised dioramas.

There are a few examples here: https://www.opumo.com/magazine/tatsuya-tanaka/

Lovely photo Gaza, is that Stoodley Pike in the distance?

It is. Taken 5 minutes from home, we live on the opposite side of the valley.

Yes; there was a documentary. Her married name is Sharbat Gula.

More recently, she was evacuated to Italy in 2021.

He didn't but National Geographic did.

From Wikipedia.

McCurry made several unsuccessful attempts during the 1990s to find her.[12] In January 2002, a National Geographic team traveled to Afghanistan to find her. Upon learning that the Nasir Bagh refugee camp was soon to close, McCurry inquired of its remaining residents, one of whom knew Gula's brother and was able to send word to her hometown. Several women falsely identified themselves as the Afghan Girl. In addition, after being shown the 1984 photograph, several young men erroneously identified her as their wife.

The team found Gula, then around age 30, in a remote region of Afghanistan; she had returned to her native country from the refugee camp in 1992. Her identity was confirmed by John Daugman using iris recognition.[13] She recalled being photographed. She had been photographed on only three occasions:

Flicking through some old photos of mine I came across this great reminder from 15 years ago.

Ballon over the Nile delta.

Ballooning at sunrise on the banks of the Nile.

Had the opportunity to go up Wainhouse Tower in Halifax yesterday on an open day. Not a perfectly clear day, but better than expected.
