Uninteresting Trivial Facts

I bought a new wallet style cover for my phone today in Tesco. It cost me 18p. The packaging it came in must have cost more than that.

Would someone please take that Orla Guerin off the telly out for a night? Del Boy style with a steak meal if needed. Christ, she spends all her life in warzones looking bloody miserable.

Someone dead sophisticated like Bob8 maybe. Failing that, Gurner.

Gurner and I will arrange a conference on how best to address your Orla Guerin issue.  I am preparing to fly across the Atlantic specifically for this.

I still consider my finest purchase ever to be the corkscrew I bought fifteen years ago and use to this day, that I bought from Tesco (http://www.tesco.com/store-locator/uk/?bID=2990) for 20p.

That woman! wherever she goes there's trouble.

They ought to take her passport off her.

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman features the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse, and "WAR" is a Chief war reporter for an American TV Station, wherever she is, there is a war. She even turns up in a quiet African country where there hasn't been a single disagreement in 25 years, she is there less than 48 hours before a bloody civil war breaks out.

I thought she was based on Kate Aidie.

Cricket in Corfu is called 'block and wallop'

My mate Phil, who has one of the most lived in faces I've ever seen, and who introduced me to the game of rugby league 25 years ago, helped organise the first ever game of cricket in Albania.

The map would suggest it's "gone". I agree with the map.

I'm from a cone heartland.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

You're a conehead?

The only thing I remember about Coneheads is that it had one of my fave RHCP songs in the soundtrack...  now that is uninteresting!

I was just messing about on t'interweb and my connection dropped.  My wifi was out, I connected to my 2nd circuit (my data one) and couldn't get to the main wifi router.  Hard reboot brought it back.  Then I still couldn't get on t'interweb and noticed I had no broadband connection.  Tried to connect to my network router, again no connection and needed a hard reboot to get it working.  Then the router was saying no internet connection, I ran the BT remote checker that identified a problem on their line, they fixed the problem in 10 mins (BT are actually quite good when you use the remote tools and don't have to speak to a human working for them).  Then I noticed an email alert saying my home server was not responsive, again it needed a hard reboot.  A bloody weird and unlikely set of coincidences.  If it were just in my house I'd have thought I'd maybe had a power brownout that threw things for a while but a BT problem at their retail server end is all nice and top-end surge protected.

So, to the faceless government snoopers reading this now while enabling the fascist capitalist underbelly of our government's plan to know everything we do, please be a bit more considerate when you're snooping round my network, wipe your electronic feet and try not to wreck my home network next time...

I had similar experience. My copper-wire broadband went out on 5 October but Telstra now assures me that it should be fixed before 20 January.

Also I'm one of the guinea pigs for the Nielsen TV ratings crowd who also monitor my webz use. It sounds intrusive but I figured it was easier for me than having the Illuminati goons/CIA/Banking conspiracists break into my house every week to check on all my new duck pics and see how many lolcats vids I'd watched. On top of which, I know they can monitor anyone from anywhere if they want to.

Speaking of monitoring, I love the new curtains your wife bought, they really match the cushion covers.

There's a spot in the South Pacific Ocean called Point Nemo. It's not an island just the most remote location on Earth, as in remote from other humans. The nearest humans would be on the International Space Station.

The ISS is only about 250 miles up, so there are plenty of places in the oceans where that would be true (if the ISS happened to be overhead.)

Point Nemo is the location of R'lyeh, Cthulhu's home on earth, in H P Lovecraft's stories.

I apologise to any mods who are offended, this is for adults only. If you wish to remove this, do so if anyone complains, or let me know and I will edit it.
