It's nearly that festive time of the year to break out the best Bob Dylan album ever!

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Cracking place though init?

Can't think of a finer setting for a gig tho i was distracted by the architecture at times. Not really a placebo fan... i went just cos it was at the amphitheater

One for the metalheads - there's a live Metallica session on the BBC red button tonight, from 9:30pm.

I'd agree entirely.  Not a huge fan of the Arctic Monkeys although Interpol work well as an American Joy Division tribute act.

As I get older it is sometimes the venue /ambience thing that works a lot better than just the band and the music.  This year I've been to a gig in a Tuscan piazza (?), and my highlight gig last year was Nick Cave in a 1920''s art deco theatre with plush seating and dripping plaster work.

When I was younger it was a slippy floor and cheap ale.

Got (as in bought, paid for in a shop) the new Metallica LP today 'Hardwired To Self Destruct'. I'm still working through it but I'm loving it so far. Proper gone back to doing what it says on the tin. I got the 3 disc version that has an extra disc with live tracks and covers and stuff, which is worth the extra.

Quality.

I also bought it in an actual proper shop (well HMV) the other day. I've listened to it several times since. Really taken with it. There are some great tunes on there.

IMO, its like the first 3 albums rolled into 1. There's a lot of music on there and it takes a while to actually hear it all but its definitely their best stuff for many years. I reckon its how MOP would sound now if they recorded it today (I know that doesn't make sense)

The Rainbow/Dio medley on the extra disc is also great.

Definitely a return to their roots but still managing to sound fresh. Agree about there being 'a lot of music' and it's going to take a while to fully appreciate the depth of the album.

I bought the double vinyl. Is the bonus stuff on the 'de luxe' CD set? I came across the Dio tribute medley on Youtube the other day. Would love to hear them do full length versions of those songs.
