With Devil Doc cameo  everyone!

Have Led Zep ever paid anyone anything for "When The Levee Breaks"? Memphis Minnie was still alive when it was recorded.

They made out of court settlements over "The Lemon Song" and "Bring it on Home", although hard to determine who received what. I think Howlin` Wolf got something for the former, not sure about Willie Dixon for the latter. It`s absurd that the Spirit case should have gone to trial when these more transparent appropriations were more or less batted away.

For obvious RL reasons, can`t resist mentioning "Bring it on Home" is one my two favourite tracks by the original SBW. Other being "Help Me".

I`ve got a Bose. If yours is the same, there`s no way of adjusting the bass. If I play Dub on it I`m risking instant terminal tinnitus.

Aye.... base is static..... still a good sound mind

You can play around a bit with the bass output of loudspeakers by positioning the unit nearer or farther from the wall behind them. But there are trade-offs with other elements of the sound output.

But I didn't know that Bose don't do tone controls or EQ. Given the price of those things, that seems a little miserly. I remember reading an interview with Amar Bose years ago, and he was talking some barely-credible bull#### about speaker design - maybe he believed his products were so perfect, he couldn't trust customers with tweaking options.

You`ve really hit a sweet spot this time. His best track. Too much of Elmore`s output consisted of rehashes of "Dust My Broom" with different lyrics. Even then, the Bottleneck sound can partially redeem anything.

"The sky is crying,

Look at the tears roll down the street".

Moving the Bose around is fruitless. The bass is just too high for it to make any discernible difference. I never use the radio on it either, since every so often it emits a puff like an exhalation from the earth`s core. I was surprised at how limited the options on the remote are. And there isn`t a single manual control. Any problem with the remote and you`re stuffed.

The upside as Robin Evans said is the general sound. On music where bass is not an issue, there`s a remarkable fullness and clarity from something that size.

Yes, the Bose Wave is like an overpriced Kloss Model 88.

These KEFs have been my speakers for years now, and I love 'em.

I hope I don`t have to hastily delete this. As far as I`m aware it`s all strictly Kosher.

I have a relative in the Channel Islands where they don`t pay UK VAT. She bought and brought my Bose on a visit. Which saved me £170.

Probably fine. At least you didn't do what a friend of mine did, and bring back an electronic item (a popcorn-maker in this case) from the USA without knowing about the difference in mains voltage.

I got my TV on grey import, and the only difference is that in addition to the usual apps available to install, it also has some German ones.

I have a Gale 3090, too, but have stopped using it since Cambridge University identified me as the source of some unusual seismic activity.

Screaming Blue Messiahs ............. back when the only body parts you needed on the dance floor were your shoulders and elbows

This was a bit of a millstone for them, rather in the manner that "Lazy Sunday" was for the Small Faces. Gave a hint of novelty act.

I`m a huge fan. Every home should have copies of "Gun-Shy" and "Bikini Red".

I bought a multi-Zone DVD player, guarenteed 240v, 3 pin squared plug from Amazon USA, so I could get DVD's from Zone 1 (ie USA/Canada), and it worked perfectly for just over 15 years, DVD's are released earlier in USA, and are cheaper too. The only one that let me down was Toy Story 4, it was a late release, and delayed through the post, by the time it got here, it was available in the UK for cheaper.
