Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Recommended Posts

In China's Xinjiang province temperatures have hit -40C. At least 1,300 livestock have died so far, and thousands of homes have been damaged by heavy snow. This is spreading through the provinces of Gansu, Qinghai, Shaanxi and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regio, and due to reach Beijing (Peking for our older members). To the North, Siberia is of course colder still.

Meanwhile, the USA is experiencing massive life endangering snowstorms, with half of all the USA currently covered in snow. In Oklahoma and Texas, the National Guard is having to assist civilian authorities. Oklahoma has already issued a declaration of emergency, and Texas is considering it today. South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds declared a state of emergency on Wednesday. "This is a life-threatening system and any travel from tonight through Saturday will be treacherous, if not nearly impossible in many areas," the National Weather Service (NWC) said.

Germany has seen temperatures of -30C in the last few days.

http://www.spiegel.de/international/german...,668320,00.html

All this just 3 weeks after we were told that this year would be the '5th warmest on record' as the Copenhagen scamfest conference began. Perhaps the Met Office, who predicted the 'barbecue summer' and a 'mild winter' hadn't spotted that the Northern hemisphere would freeze over. Has the Southern hemisphere made up for it? No.

I quite like a white Christmas myself.

Merry Christmas!

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Posting on Christmas Day? Busy then?

Happy New Year to you too, Bob.

How does this freezing of the Northen Hemisphere fit in with your global warming, Bob? All that Arctic ice has grown back, and the polar bears are thriving! I know you can't answer this because you've already demonstrated your total lack of any scientific expertise. Tell you what, just post a link to the Royal Society website as usual.

Cheers.

It can only be taught to people if there is snow on the ground.

The AA has (or, at least had) a policy of cancelling any driving lesson if there was snow.

Just back from Derbyshire for the Christmas break. We stayed in a cottage on a non-gritted lane. The shovel was required a couple of times. Didn't half make me feel like a Tough Chap who'd earned his beer. The missus was impressed too, in between being amused at my enjoyment of showing what a Real Man I was.

I would have thought a lack of expertise was a required qualification in your world. Here is the link again, start reading it and I will stop posting it

Happy New Year!

Unfortunately, The Royal Society has now removed all the links to the 'misleading arguments'. Maybe even they don't believe it any more.

All down to climate change according to the Guardian.

The USA continues to see cold and snow records broken evey day.

Got any other great links? The Met Office, perhaps?

Looks like much of the rest of the world has just as much snow.

'Heavy snow in Seoul causes traffic bedlam'

http://www.koreaherald.co.kr/NEWKHSITE/dat...01001050042.asp

'The snow in Seoul was the heaviest since the nation started recording snowfall back in 1937, the weather agency added'.

Meanwhile...

'BEIJING: Freak snowstorms and record low temperatures sweeping northern China are linked to global warming, say Chinese officials'.

http://www.smh.com.au/environment/china-bl...00104-lq6t.html

'Tomorrow morning the mercury is forecast to plunge to minus 16, a 40-year low, after a day-time maximum of minus 8'.

and...

In India

Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir were all hit with heavy snow, while Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi also recorded snowfall over the past 24 hours.

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.
