Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Recommended Posts

Left work 1820, and as I left it started snowing, dumped about 3 inch in the time it took me to walk half an hour towards the curry house, No busses were running. That wasn't surprising given the fact they stop when it rains down here, no Bus goes to the hospital on a Sunday and all have stopped Mon-Sat by 8pm anyway. Guess who runs the Monopoly sorry franchise in Hastings? Yes thats right, the scottish pirates Stagecoach.

I bet they keep the transport working up north where there is competition?

We had that one about 2:30, dumped 3 inches in an hour. It made pretty good progress to get to you by that time.

The buses were technically running, but they weren't going anywhere fast. Maybe without the competition they wouldn't have bothered at all.

So well above average temperatures from 22 days ago can be dismissed? I forgot you only accept links if they agree with you. Haha you are great!

Ok ok the world is cooling you are right. Everyone else and their pesky thermometers are wrong.

The met office needs you as you, as you are way more accurate than a super computer.

There a a couple of small areas (by Canadian standards) which are warmer than normal, but the vast majority of the North American continent is seeing records broken for lowest temperatures and for snowfall, all the way down to Texas and Florida.

A mildy amusing link on the subject:

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Record lows across South Florida are literally freezing the invasive iguana in its tracks.

The world is cooling, and I'll tell you that this is a lot more dangerous for the world than a small degree of warming, as an understanding of history would show you. Of course, cooling is 'climate change' so I'm sure you socialists will think of a way of taxing it.

I know about the Met Office's computing capacity, as I sold them some of it. However, you can get any result you like out of it, depending on what you put in.

I think you may be suffering from snow blindness.

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

You know how turning your fridge up does not make the house colder? It is a bit like that.

Tell you what. Leave this thread for people who want to discuss the local snow (and that still includes me) and post to the climate change thread instead. I'll argue the case with you and your comrades there, if you are up to it.

You mean you want to spout nonsense and run away?

Fair dos, I would be embarrased to post such nonsense too.

I was going to report that it is 89F in Haiti today, but as this has turned into a bitchfest about Canadian temperatures, I can't be bothered.

I am afraid you might have posted by mistake.

I promise not to tell anyone.

You appear to use the ad hominem attack as a first resort Bob. That and posting dead links from the Royal Society. Come over to the climate change thread and post your evidence, if you have any. I will dismantle it, bit by bit, just to draw out the pleasure.

Why here? Why not gather the evidence, write a paper and publish it.

Go on, it could make your fortune if you have the evidence.

It is not a failure on ;y part that means we have nto had an intellegent exchange. Now, shall we return to talking about the sbnow, or you can start on the scientific paper?

I'd post a link to the met office showing areas above and below the normal averages across the whole northern hemisphere...but I doubt the met office is good enough.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Our Busses / Buses don't get much above a 12MPH average even when its warm and dry. August 2009 it took 28 minutes in a F-prefix reg bus to do 3.5 miles, the heating was on and there was old biddies were sharing bottles of water, although I didn't share because I thought I saw a false tooth or eye floating in a certain bottle of Evian, or is that normal?

Edited by Bob8

It was a typo. I have also been drinking :D

I am in a few inches of snow in Brussels and the city is slowing down to an extent that people are told does not happen on the continent.

Have I missed something but isn't it normal for winter to be cold and have snow ?. My optician is from Switzerland and she says that is laughable people here react to a dusting of snow. (her words not mine)

I thought the mild winters that we have had for years were the abnormal ones.

Next time you go you'll have to ask her why they couldn't keep their alpine tunnels open after a few cm of snow yesterday.

Overnight snow didn't arrive.

I think it was stuck in snow somewhere, and will arrive later.
