Wakefield / Cas new grounds

Recommended Posts

I was just going to post something on this. Its no surprise that the Council are suggesting this and a feasibility study just slows the process down for both clubs. Logically, you would have to think the Glasshoughton site would be the best location in terms of planning, infrastructure etc but I'm not sure Wakefield would be happy with that. Whatever happens, Wakefield need to get cracking as the clock is ticking

Nothing is set in stone. All that has been announced is that there will be a feasibility study to see which location (Glasshoughton or Newmarket) is the best.

What are the chances of the RFL dishing out 2 licences, to 2 middle of the road teams, from the Rhubarb triangle, sharing the same stadium, when they are helll bent on expansion?

What the stupid licencing system is doing is making both our neighbours make rash short term decisions that will effect there future, exactly what the RFL said it would stop. They have made the whole sport into a laughing stock, i can see it now both Wakey and Cas make a decision on a joint stadium that neither really want, then the RFL scrap the licencing system for 2 divisions with P+R and they will do it without a care in the world. They have made a pit that all the lower clubs will fall into, what they dont realise is the pit will grow that big that the bigger clubs will fall into it as well.

Were all off to helll in a handcart

Forget us, were small time National League stuff, according to a certain member on the darkside forum, were not dependant on Castleford getting a ground, so we'll let the Mildcats worry.

Amusing to read many Wakefield fans becoming fed up of Super League and their standing being decided due to off the field factors and not on the field results

Best thing i've read on there forum about this whole thing is going to the Conservatives above that councillor Box to have him removed from his job

Mind you this is the same forum that come up with ideas such as Wakefield European Capital of Culture (with the tag line, if Liverpool can have it, so can we...) & renaming everything in the WMDC to Greater Wakefield and have Xscape, Wakefield and Wakefield Races @ Pontefract.

Cummins Out.
