Young Reserves beat Whitehaven

Recommended Posts

A very young and, in comparison, lightweight reserves outfit won a thrilling match against a much bigger Whitehaven outfit. Once again the endeavour of the boys was evident from numbers 1-17 but this match saw a big improvement when in possession. None more so than when an inside ball saw Mufaru Muvududu through a gap and under the posts with less than two minutes to go. With the conversion that saw Fev into 20-14 lead and they held out to win. The boys were delighted at the end as this puts them strongly back into contention for the league title after three recent defeats.

Once again, a poor referee but thankfully he was just as bad for both sides so neither team can feel any harder done by.

Whilst this was a marked improvement in most areas of attacking play, the lack of any semblance of a kicking game remains a big worry.
