GIANTSTRIDES Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Thats a great looking stadium,at least whats on show there is. Dont expect anything from a pig but a grunt
High Peak Rhino Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Very impressive and a new word for the dictionary - "impactful"
Eagles86 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 looks a great stadium which will be great for noise levels ! will miss Knowsley road though.
High Peak Rhino Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 looks a great stadium which will be great for noise levels ! will miss Knowsley road though. Don't worry there will be recordings of "Forrrrwarrrd" played every 15 seconds

From what I understand as of next year that will be the badge & our brand. Took a bit of getting used to at first I thought they should keep St Helens RL but I like it now. The stadium is magnificent & will take us to a whole new level. I havent been in corporate at other stadiums but its certainly impressive, Anyone who has can they say how it compares? Even the store is swanky. Well done Mr mcManus & all involved

Old Frightful Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Looks like the Keepmoat to me, and that's a great RL venue, albeit a tad small. What's the crowd capacity going to be? What am I going to put here now?
giwildgo Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Looks really good from the outside in particular and the facilities inside are top notch, only concern would be that the actual inside stadium view resembles Leigh Sports Village a little and looks smaller than I thought it would be. oderint dum metuant
deluded pom? Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Do I need to wear special glasses to let me see it in 3D?

What's the crowd capacity going to be? 18500 We have Eamonn to thank for it getting this far, just pray nowt goes wrong between now and our WCC match in February 2012 to open it Rugby League is a sport that desperately needs to expand its geographical supporter base and its player base. This imperative means that all other requirements are secondary until this is done. All power in the game should be with governing bodies, especially international governing bodies. Without these actions we will remain a minor sport internationally and nationally.
deluded pom? Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Particularly liked the bingo hall. I did notice that the drinks behind the bar are a little different to the usual bottles of brown ale found at KR.

Paris Surtout has declared that next season need not be played - Wigan's three signings from Melbourne make it academic It's alright, we've got the English Billy Slater in Paul Wellens to counteract them Rugby League is a sport that desperately needs to expand its geographical supporter base and its player base. Castigers13 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Looks a great stadium, could make some of the newer stadiums look dated.
Dave T Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 It looks very nice, will be nice if all the touches are there from day 1, it will be the best dedicated RL stadium in the country by some distance, although I must admit that the conference facilities and reception area look much fancier than the actual seating areas.
saintsbird Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Its about bloody time you joined the rest of us with one these new fangled daft names! Well I am glad we dont have an animal at the end of it.......apart from Jammer!
EastLondonMike Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 think the new badge is nice enough, and certainly marketable.. but not liking the name.. st. helens is such a nicer name than saints RL, just like Wakefield Trinity is so much nicer without the 'wildcats' moniker on the end.. same goes for Wigan.. it clearly never occured to the 'marketing' men at so many rugby league clubs that to adopt a nickname doesnt mean incorporating it into the actual title.. sad. but that aside, the stadium looks great.. and think this will take saints to a new level on the field aswell as off it. Mcmanus is very very good with money. i wonder what chance a future role at the RFL?!.. Newham Dockers - Champions 2013. 3owls Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Were the fans consulted at all regarding the number of seats? Over 10,000 in a capacity of just 18000 seems a lot to me. I don't know what the split is at warrington but for me they've kept a good atmosphere there which is largely down to decent sized standing areas. Also, where abouts is the site for the new stadium, it's not stuck on the edge of town with ###### all around it is it? Wigan, hull, warrington and huddersfield all have pubs etc within easy walking distance which adds to the match day atmosphere for me.

No need to worry, there will be a bridge connecting to stadium site to the town centre plenty of drinking to be done in St Helens on the way to the ground, the Stadium also has a sports bar The stadium will hopefully get a healthy amount of world cup action in 2013
