BroncoFan
I thought he played his way into the Warrington 17 man team for Wembley, he ran strongly and offloaded at will. Vinnie Anderson to miss out imo, what do you Wire fans think ? Everything under the sun is in tune But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

Vinnie Anderson to miss out imo, what do you Wire fans think ? Yeah he's done a good job tonight. But the main issue with Wire is who out of 5 top class half back/hookers do you drop? Myler, Briers, Monaghan, Clarke and Higham? My take is that Mr Smith aka ''The Special One'' will play em all and go all out for Briers and Clarke at half back, with Monaghan at hooker and a bench including Myler (potential match winner) and Higham as rotating hooker. HappyDave
I guess if Briers was left out of your starting XIII for the Challege Cup Final then all of Warrington would be up in arms. I know RL isn't like 'Onion' Ariel Ping-pong but I think the key elements of this years Challenge Cup Final will be Sinfield, Westwood & Briers' kicking game. [briers in-game kicking & Westwood's conversion taking] Oops! Bit off topic. Sorry. Edited August 21, 2010 by HappyDave "I've never seen a woman with hairy ears... I know RL isn't like 'Onion' Ariel Ping-pong but I think the key elements of this years Challenge Cup Final will be Sinfield, Westward & Briers' kicking game. [briers in-game kicking & Westward's conversion taking] Oops! Bit off topic. Sorry. Yeah Briers was left out on purpose tonight. If he got injured and not make the final Wire are screwed kicking wise, Myler is great...but yet to master the full art. I think your right, Westwood is a great kicker for a forward but you can just see the pressure cooker of Wembley and playing in front of 90,000 fans getting to him. HappyDave
Oops! I misspelt Ben's surname. Damn! I didn't see tonights game so didn't realise Briers wasn't in the squad, as I was at the gym but I just think the great kicking games of those 3 players will be key elements in the Challenge Cup Final. Dave T
I like Cooper, but would expect him to miss out for Carvell, who was outstanding in the semi last week, and is ahead of Cooper at the moment. There are at least two players who will miss out from last night.
Father Ted
For starters, Bridge will play at Wembley with Riley to fb and Mathers missing out. Briers at 6 with Monaghan to 9 and Clarke off the bench. Higham not included. That's my punt anyway!

Too light on the bench. Whilst all five of your 'top class' hookers/halves may well be in your best seventeen players, you can't play them all. Leeds mobile pack will run all over that team on a hot afternoon - particularly with Solomona in there. You need another, preferably mobile, forward on the bench - unless you choose to rotate Clarke at loose, which is a bit of a square peg/round hole situation. I think that Myler might be the one to miss out - which would be a shame as he is a terrific player - but he's less versatile than Clarke, who is probably the weakest of the five. Blind side johnny
A coach like TS will always go for the tried and tested in big games. Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Vinnie Anderson to miss out imo, what do you Wire fans think ? I thought that last night was possibly Cooper's best performance so far for Warrington. A tremendous achievement for a young man who's family have been through a terribly difficult and emotional period. Well done Mike. I agree though with many of the other posters that he'll miss out for Carvell. At least he has his winner's medal from last year. He may not be everybody's two pints of terrible lager, but I reckon Vinnie Anderson has done a very good job this season and probably warrants his place in the 17. What may count against him is simply the fact that he's not at Warrington next season and Smith may decide it's best to have him upset than somebody who'll be in the camp in the future. I too think Myler may be the one to miss out, but that would be an incredibly big call to make for Tony Smith. Not for Bridge though, I suspect Clarke may be Briers's half-back partner. BroncoFan
I don't see it as Cooper v Carvell, i think with Jon Clarke coming back into the reckoning it is more like Mick Higham could miss out along with Vinnie Anderson. Just Browny
Would be very surprised to see some of the line-ups mentioned on here Mathers Hicks King Atkins Riley Briers Myler Morley Monaghan Carvell L Anderson Westwood Harrison Clarke Wood Solomona Cooper I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
