Incoming Chief Operating Officer for the RFL, Ralph Rimmer has been confirmed as the latest speaker in the line up for the first ever Supporters Direct rugby league conference.

Rimmer, who takes up his new role on October 11th has stepped in to cover for original speaker, Chris Thair who has unfortunately had to pull out of the event. He will be speaking about his role with the RFL and offering his take on supporter involvement in the game.

Ralph will be joined by previously announced speakers, Robbie Paul, Danny Lockwood, Martyn Cheney and Jason McCartney along with Neil Kelly, Foundation Director at Warrington Wolves and a number of supporters trusts from across the movement.

Rugby League: An Alternative Future takes place at The George Hotel Huddersfield on Saturday October 9th and aims to show supporters how they can influence the future of the game by increasing their own involvement.

There are still a few places remaining for the conference and anyone interested in attending is urged to register as soon as possible so as not to be disappointed. The conference is free to attend and is open to anyone with an interest in rugby league. To register please visit the Supporters Direct website at www.supporters-direct.org or for more information, please contact Rugby League Supporters Trusts Development Officer Laura Harrison on Laura.Harrison@supporters-direct.org

Perhaps you could ask him why he went against the wishes of both Huddersfield and Sheffield fans by pushing on with the famous merger.

Nope.

I'll say no more - I might have to work for him one day.

WCE jogs onto a Rimmer thread, now who would've thought that :D

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.

He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.

And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

Me, predictable, who'd have thought? :D

Pretty good performance from Hudds last night. Shame they crumbled a bit in the last 20 - was hoping they could pull off a shock.

The merger period was a very bleak period for fans. In all 5 clubs were affected by the process, Hull and Huddersfield being beneficiaries, but the other 3 effectively losing their identity, nay existence. Fortunately the 3 clubs managed to be reformed. But then fans were a nuisance as far as some of our "leaders" were concerned. Fortunately the RFL now has a more positive view as its current support for Supporters Direct shows.
