I heard Bruce Johnston's I write the songs for the first time a few days ago. I think David Cassidy recorded it first so can it count as a cover version even though he wrote it? Robin Evans
Whilst the byrds far excelled Dylan's version of mr tambourine man, I prefer Athur's original version of this.... but the damned covered it very well.

Yep that would be my guess too but theirs does sound a bit dated but good. 2 warning points Non-Political
Tyrone Shoelaces
I saw The Crying Shames once at my local fire station/dance hall. They were about 2 or 3 numbers into their set when all of a sudden they stopped playing and started packing away their equipment ! I was stood near the front, by the stage, once I looked around there was a mass brawl going on behind me. I suppose they had a contract that allowed them to bail out in the event of trouble. What the brawl was all about I never did find out.

Wiltshire Rhino
I wouldn't call this a "best cover version" as the original is SO MUCH BETTER! However it's an appropriate song to post. If someone else has already posted this, sorry, but I skipped to the last page. 1 2014 Challenged Cup Winner
