Enjoying "Justified" on Amazon Prime.

Ok, so it was originally on tv between 2010 and 2015 so I'm currently 9 years behind the times. However it's set in Kentucky so I'm still at least 50 years in front of them. ?

Apologies if it's already been mentioned but has anyone else been watching or has watched 'Black Spot' on Netflix?

Oh my. I'm seriously impressed with this. It's a French/Belgian collaboration that is both visually stunning and comes with a very engrossing story.

Really liked the first series. Second was interesting but not as good IMO.

Capture on  BBC at the moment is riveting stuff , much like the lead character don`t know what the hell is going on with all the dodgy "false" CCTV stuff , but it`s got me hooked .

I love it. I have no idea what's happening and am an episode behind at the moment so no spoilers please.

Halfway through series 1 of 'Godless' on Netflix. A gritty, violent western with a difference, ( and not because three of the leading actors are British (with American accents) - Lady Mary from Downton Abbey, Jojen Reed from Game of Thrones and Jack O'Connell who has been in a few things on British TV.) Jeff Daniels is the baddie - and what a baddie - and what an actor.

Think of Clint Eastwoods Unforgiven, then add more grit and violence.

The wife and I settled on NCIS as our next programme to work through, neither of us have seen a single episode until last night.  I saw David McCallum on it and said "here, wasn't he Illya Kuryakin"?

1. I was impressed with myself that I instantly remembered his name from "The Man from UNCLE"

2. I was less impressed that my wife said "who's that" and "never heard if it"

3. I was even less impressed when she said that I was showing my age.

NCIS is probably up there with my favourite shows. It is very samey at times, and does follow a pretty standard route through the episode from "crime to case closed", but over the last 15? years, they make the characters very easy to relate to, and it is just a fun show to watch.

The new season is coming out in the US tonight, so looking forward to watching that tomorrow.

Would also recommend NCIS: New Orleans - It is more similar to the original NCIS rather than NCIS:LA which is a bit more "far fetched" and out there in terms of gun fights, and the like.

YouTube, rather than TV, but people of a certain age may remember this performer (big in Australia, too, in his day). A comedian/magician I'd forgotten about for years, but this documentary is well worth your time. Always Amazing: The true Story of the Life, Death & Return of Amazing Johnathan.

Someone of this parish who I know of was a contestant on Eggheads.

(There may be more, and I won't call them out.)

There is a 30 foot wide wall for all the lardass, smartass, donkey's who are "Experts" on Eggheads, and the Chaser, who, come the socialist, egalitarian, intelligentsia revolution, will be first up against the wall, as will all the smug presenters who know 4k all without the answer cards in front of them.

Watched the finale of Killjoys last night. Overall not ground breaking sci-fi but really fun and ended on exactly the right note.

Seems like my wife now wants us to catch up on the Magicians... we’ll see.

We also watched the first Bear Grill’s dropping people on a remote island with drops of money to see what happens (forgot the exact title). It seems the rich Lord has teamed up with the military while the ‘little’ people do the work to get water while not realising they’re being shafted. A great analogy for modern Britain if ever there was one.

I tried to watch The Magicians and gave up after two episodes. Unless you really enjoy teen angsty stuff with them saving the world from pesky older folk then you'll end up grumbling and removing it from your list.

I’m not totally enamoured. The sci-fi channel seem to have said “let’s do Harry Potter but make them a bit older so there’s sex!”

And with no humour at all.

NCIS S2, ep13:

Kate: what did he look like when he was younger (talking about David McCallum’s character)

Gibbs: “Ilya Kuryakin”
