Yes my mam is a big Tomasz fan ( hard not to be I admit ) and was chuffed he had a haircut after interrupting the weather for ages telling him to get his hair cut . Exiled Townie
Barkskins, on the National Geographic Channel (Didn't realise they did 'drama' shows on this channel.) It is set in 1600's New France (Canada) and follows a French village trying to establish itself whilst those dastardly British try and stir up trouble between them and the native tribes. Slow, bloody and a good watch. (Barkskin was the nick name given to lumberjacks). Jam Eater 1.(noun. jam eeter) A Resident of Whitehaven or Workington. Offensive. It is now a term of abuse that both towns of West Cumbria use for each other especially at Workington/Whitehaven rugby league derby matches. It was very good and in keeping with the original I gave the first episode a try at lunchtime, and it is far, far better than you'd expect for a Channel 5 programme. I especially liked the portrayal of Siegfried. The appearance of the old theme tune at the end could have jarred if it had been a worse adaptation, but didn't. And, of course, the scenery's wonderful. Edited September 3, 2020 by Futtocks Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Bedford Roughyed
Late to the game and it has already been mentioned... But The Boys is really good! With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
ckn
We’re now watching The Handmaid’s Tale. Joseph Fiennes plays one of the bad guys. The Fiennes brothers are excellent at playing sociopathic fascists. I've got all the episodes on DVD but as I've discovered with Doctor Who, it is so much easier to watch them on Britbox without all the faff of swapping discs. It's fast becoming my favourite streaming service, absolute TV nostalgia heaven. I've started watching The Prisoner, which I've never seen, and for those mourning the loss of Diana Rigg today, they've just added a load of episodes of The Avengers too. 2 1 1 .
