Despite them only getting the one goal Huddersfield didn’t cause them much trouble. Do you think Huddersfield will surprise teams again this season or will they struggle to make the playoffs ?. They had a great turnout of over 20,000. Watching the highlights of the Tics/Preston match Amos(the Wigan goalie) saved them with a couple of cracking saves. A decent crowd of 15,400 for the day as well. No I don't think Huddy will to anything this season. If I was putting money on who'll be promoted I'd say Burnley WBA and possibly Middlesbrough. Talking of betting, I only play one betting game. I'm in an internet Premier league prediction game with about 200 others called Survivor. We each pay £24 for the season, two games of Survivor per season of 19 rounds each. It is run by a guy from Deutsch Bank, where my brother works, that's how I got into it, although anyone can play if you email the guy and pay. Each player starts with 10 points, each round of matches you pick a winner, if they draw you lose 1 point , or lose and you lose 2 points. When you hit zero you're out. Seems easy, just keep picking Man City right? Wrong, you can only pick a team once, so after a while you're left with the also rans. Or pick the lesser teams first and save the big boys to later, it's quite hard to win. I've played it for 4 seasons, 8 games, and only got to round 19 once. I get an email before each round with the fixtures and I pick one team, first round next week I've chosen Spurs, so they win I stay on 10 points, lose and I'm already down to 8. 200 people times £12, for each 19 round game equals a fair prize for the winner or winners if at the end more than one player is on top of the pile. Usually the winner has about 4 points, so only lose 6 points after 19 games which is some going. If you don't respond by 5pm on Friday you get given as your choice for the weekend the lowest ranked team in the table that you haven’t yet picked. Sorry I don't think I can give the guy's personal details or email on a public forum, but as he uses his work email not personal anyone interested I'll give it via Personal Message. Part of email I recently received; You have 10 points Each week you pick a team you think is going to win – if they lose you drop 2 points and if they draw you drop 1 point. You can only pick each team once and so in each half there will be one team you can choose not to use The winner is the person with the most points left at the end. Each game lasts 19 matches (each half of the season) If you don’t pick then you get the bottom placed team (that you haven’t yet picked) Prizes Prize pot split 60/30/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd after… £10 for people making it to the end of the 19 games £100 for last player on 10 points £100 for cumulative most points over the two halves of the season Last season each half had £2710 in the pot and the top 3 places were £1452, £726 and £242 fffces were £1452, £726 an Edited August 4, 2022 by HawkMan

I am rubbish at picking winners, but it’s a well thought up idea. I am in a RL predictions comp £20 for the season and i am rock bottom, i am that far behind everyone i have given up putting my predictions in most weeks. What A Waste Of Money. Unlike the RFL/SL were prize money & sponsorship is kept secure at the pentagon.
JonM
Southend United have a new sponsor for their West Stand, a local estate agency called Gilbert & Rose. Not sure that the Gilbert & Rose West Stand is quite the image they intended though.

Yep, quite strange that nobody old enough to remember the mid-90's, didn't pick up on it. No doubt they'll replace it with the Betfred West stand.

Josef K
Have Birmingham City got new owners yet. i noticed they had some seats missing behind their goal in the bottom tier where the blues fans sit. I know the stadium needs a fair bit of fixing ?.
Josef K
I thought the Tics were handling Norwich well, but when they equalised it was backs against the wall and a good point for them. Carrow Road isn’t an easy place to go in the Championship. I only have the utmost respect for supporters who make 500mile round trips, football fans in the Premier League, down to the National League’s North & South must put in a few thousand miles a season. It won’t be cheap either.

Josef K
I watched the Scunthorpe/Yeovil match before and what a difference a summer can make, Glanford Park has gone from a toxic atmosphere last season to a happy environment. Yeovil had a player called Fisher which meant i could sing out loud every time his name was mentioned “Fisher hates gravel Fisher hates shale it goes straight through him” (Ballad Of Climie Fisher - Half Man Half Biscuit)

National League North and not even the most southern club in it. When Blyth play Gloucester, that will be a 560 mile round trip.
