Shamrock v Cork was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch today. Shame, was looking forward to going down Tallaght Stadium.

You could have gone for a paddle anyway.

Another mad end to a game for LUFC.

Leeds are now ow 7pts clear of Burnley in 3rd with 12 games to go, meaning effectively Burnley need to win 3 more games than Leeds by the end of the season for LUFC to not finish in the top 2.

West Brom, Millwall and Bristol City are the only 3 fixtures LUFC have against sides in the top half of the table - with the first 2 of those games being at home where Leeds have lost once (to Burnley) all season.

It would have to be some hell of a collapse from here... but if there's a club that could do it!

I watched it last night and it was a madcap last ten mins.

I always think if you’re winning late in games a lot then it says a lot about your mental toughness - it’s no accident.

A bit like the championship rounds in boxing near the end of a fight.

Edit: I know some Man Utd fans dreading it (Leeds promotion) as they are a total mess and not having a proper on the level rivalry with Liverpool or City at the moment.

I think a lot of clubs would love to be like Leeds “a total mess” 😂

I know some people in Manchester who’ve been the victims of these cuts.

Also I know parents of kids who have had their elite pathway teams terminated that feed traditionally into United’s academy.

A lot of these local talented kids have now been scooped up by City’s youth academy instead.

If United continue in this way they will become a relic of their storied past.

Captain Ineos really hasn't a clue. A "beatings will continue until morale improves" approach will not work, however many beans he counts.

As a counterpoint, MUFC has/had the largest workforce in the league, which was built under the stewardship of the Glazers. The INEOS cuts bring them more in line with the other big clubs.

The media understands well that MUFC negativity puts food on the table. There was that one reporter who told Ten Hag that it's better for business when United lose. Says it all really.

It's fine to be against the cuts on principle, but to do so when all its competitors have smaller workforces is just downright weird and shows that clicks are far more important than any genuine displeasure at what's going on at the club itself.

I take it you’re a Utd fan - don’t you think when Utd start cutting their elite youth teams, coaches and scouting set up then it’s a change of culture for them that dates back to Busby and has always served them well?  That’s downright weird in my book.

Strange take since the impact of the cuts on proper club people has been widely publicised. Utd have been the biggest club in the country for the best part of 30 years so you'd expect them to have the most employees. In any case it's not a numbers game, it's where cuts have been made that are the problem.

It would have. It's a global empire.

Or was.

Away to Cork City.

But my eyes are on the Welsh League Cup final where I’m hoping my actual “we” aren’t too embarrassed. We have fluked into the final but are bottom of the table and on a shocking run of form. A “win” for us against the cuckoos of TNS will be staying within three goals and maybe scoring one of our own.

St Pat’s won a seesaw battle with Sligo Rovers 4-3 with one Athletic player scoring an own goal before being sent off late.

It’s a real shame that League of Ireland is behind a paywall as I wouldn't mind checking it out otherwise.

Even one or two YouTube screened games would be great.

You get Northern Irish league games on youtube occasionally and Welsh league games. I've enjoyed watching them with about 300 other people!

Crystal Palace striker, Mateta, is apparently doing well in hospital after having to have 25 stitches because Millwall's keeper kicked him in the head. It was horrible to watch live and in real time and the injuries must have looked awful to the medical team because he was rushed straight to hospital and the game was stopped for quite a while. There was 15 minutes of added time in the first half.

Thoughts with him as it was an appalling challenge from that keeper.
