jannerboyuk
The Good Doctor has posted a curious tweet on this https://twitter.com/drmarwanK/status/424223303562436608 The vote was unanimous so London Broncos voted in favour - There is a reason why players and coaches sign on a one year deal and the club only wanted a one year deal with AK. very curious and did salford vote for? Dave T
Well, it's a rare day when virtually the entire rugby league family is united in agreement. So, credit to the clubs and RFL for creating and voting through something that has been met with near-universal contempt. It's just as well this is the greatest game ... this is an interesting point. It hasnt been met with near-universal contempt. It has been voted in by plenty of clubs, including clubs who now look at risk of relegation. People often quote the fact that Scottish football voted against this kindof structure, but ignore the fact that the vast majority of clubs did actually vote yes for it. People against a proposal will generally be more vocal than those in favour, although Gary Hetherington gave as good as he got.

South Wakefield Sharks
I'd be surprised if the new format makes much difference for most clubs. The better run clubs will be able to grow on the back of more competitive games, and the rest will continue to puddle along. The new format gives any club a realistic opportunity to become one of the big boys, but most clubs are so badly run that they will continue to fritter away the opportunities. Clubs like Wakey & Cas will be satisfied with not being the worst, and clubs like Fev will try and get to the top too quickly. The biggest change the game needs, is more sensible club administrators. Saintslass
I just don't get what's so difficult to understand It's a regular season, followed by a 7 game round robin playoff to determine the make up of the two divisions for the next season. It really couldn't be any simpler It isn't quite that simple though as you aren't including an explanation of the play offs for each split league in there and you don't mention Championship 1 either. The system isn't complicated; it is convoluted, and entirely unnecessary. Anyone know what is happening to Championship 1 by the way? Aside from the fact that it will become massive in 2015 when four teams drop from the Championship. Is there just going to be the same P&R system between Championship and Championship 1 or is Championship 1 no longer going to exist? And what about a sponsor for the new look Championships? Any such sponsor will only have all the Championship clubs for half a season. Anyone know what is happening to Premier Sports as a result of all this? After all they are supposed to be screening the Championships but there will only be Championships for half a season. Anyone know how all of this is going to be funded? nadera78
Very disappointed with this decision but I'll try and deal with it in a much better way than the BS from so many people over the last five years. That said, I do reserve the right to laugh and gloat when this is being torn up in a couple of years time. I only hope that not too much damage is done in the meantime. keighley
1. It doesn't need a merged team. It needs a team playing out of Newmarket, fully funded to take on Hull, leeds, Wigan etc. attracting 10,000+ If the other 10,000 RL fans around your way aren't interested then fine, but heaven forbid such a strong area for RL ends up not being in Superleague at all and as it stands if they vote 3x8 none of the three will be in the true SL of the top eight. Still you'll have the derbies to see you through like they do in Hull. 2. Thank you, maybe this will dispell the argument nobody from keighley watches bradford, nobody from leigh watches wigan, nobody from halifax watches bradford, their nearest professional Rugby league team. I challenge you to prove that Keighlians go to watch the Bulls. You love your stats. Go, prove it. It just aint so.

bamfordsbeans
Assuming all the present clubs survive to 2015 and Toulouse are accepted in -that will leave 14 teams in the championship. If Leicester and Coventry are ready for that level the then 16 teams could be split into a northern and southern section. That would make more sense with travelling times and costs at that level and at the same time give a national feel.
