Escapism is my thing....I had Elle MacPherson as the CIA agent seducer in my head - fantastic .......I love a good thriller or detective novel - Rebus is my ultimate

I started to read the Stephen Leather book "The Bombmaker" but struggled so gave up about 1/3 of the way through.

I'm now reading another book by him called "Tango one" which is a lot better so far.

I have just finished 'The Good Soldier' by Ford Madox Ford. Needing something less depressing, I have just started David Hepworth's latest, 'A Fabulous Creation'.

Next to my loo I've got a copy of 'it's been grand, now it's final' by Eddie hemmings and Mike Stephenson. It's good cos I haven't had to buy bog paper for a little while now.

I’ve nearly finished Rory Clements ‘ Nemesis ‘ . I like him as an author ,  I’m in his readers club . It’s ok but this new line isn’t as good as the John Shakespeare series

I am a big T Pratchett fan, and I downloaded the "Long Earth" series a while back onto my Kindle, but I never got round to reading them, but I started at the weekend.

Gonna be starting 'The Battle for Spain: The Spanish Civil War' by Antony Beever in the next couple of days. While a bit of a history buff it is one area I know virtually nothing about so thought I'd learn something about it! Looking forward to it!

It inspired me to have a go at Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell.

Currently getting on well with The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Didn’t realise that it’s essentially a series of novellas that were once serialised in the paper.

Great for those who just want to dip in and out of something.

A lot of classics are hard going for me. I love anything by Hardy. Reading anything much before that I do as a self improvement thing like going to the gym or giving to charity

Last one I did was Robinson Crusoe....it's woeful

War and Peace? Word of advice don't bother....or at least buy an accompaniment study guide. Tried it and gave up....too long for me to struggle on for

Reading ' Force of Nature' by Jane Harper last few days. Good so far...about a corporate expedition weekend gone wrong in the Australian Bush outside of Melbourne.....an Inspector Falk book which are usually good ....if you like Rebus/Morse/Banks you'd like this. Half way through and it's a 4/5 so far

 One of the ladies in the group hasn't made it back from the Bush expedition and Falk and his assistant go out to find her....oooooooooh  .....mystery,........

Never read any of this sort of stuff (Disc world is it?).....as a newbie who normally likes thrillers/crime/comedy novels where do you recommend starting with Pratchet?
