With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

That bullsh*t again...

The MoD should slap this down with a press release immediately to stop any negative impact on recruitment. Along the lines of:

”The British Army has proudly displayed unit, formation, command and national  designators on its uniform for a number of years. The Union Jack is displayed on the left shoulder at all times whilst proudly displaying the likes of the ISAF badge in Afghanistan, KFOR in Kosovo and UN badges in Cyprus as examples on the uniform as well. The EU badge as part of Op Althea is no different. British Forces have and continue to serve under foreign command operating as part of coalition forces across the world to combat terrorism and other threats to our national security, including the Second World War where the D-Day invasion was led by an American, Gen Eisenhower. Joining the Army is a great career opportunity allowing recruits to travel the world whilst gaining qualifications including an Apprenticeship. For more information, please go to...”

Farage knew he could take them up to a line, dog whistle a little further but keep a distance from EDL etc.  Batten is diving straight in, probably enamoured by the rise of the populist far right in Italy, etc.

The problem is that there are plenty of people out there who will see all this as a good thing. :(

Fortunately however, our lopsided electoral system will virtually ensure that they never manage to gain a single seat in parliament. That's if they manage to avoid falling into the financial black hole that they are teetering on the edge of.

The Farage ground is now occupied by the Conservatives (with honourable exceptions)

They'll be stuffed once their Euro money stops. Kind of ironic.

If Farage was still their leader, I doubt he still would of moved that much further right.  He knows that he has to appear credible/mainstream to be treated as such by the press for example.

Ideal contraception for Yorkshire folk; you'd never, ever have to buy more than one as there is no need to take it out of the packet for it to do the job. B)

It's the sort of optimism you need if you believe "hard" Brexit will work.

That should just about kill UKIP off.

Meanwhile, just down the road in Boston.

2015 Council: Conservative 13, UKIP 12, Independent 2 Labour 2, unaligned (?) 1.

2018 council: Conservative 16, UKIP 6, Independent  8, Labour 0.

It should upset anyone.  UKIP are doing their damnedest to become the BNP with a new brand and it's annoying Farage who spent at least half his time as leader keeping the Kippers just above the line of outright nutjobbery.  The "New" UKIP doesn't even have that pretence at being respectable.

You can question how far he pushed that line, but Farage did know he had to appear like a 'normal' political party to have any chance.

His best mate Raheem Kassam will have an interesting choice, as he seems to be fully invested in the Batten/Lennon movement.

Farage understood that, however much you encourage and empower people like that, you don't actually employ them.
