Amazing to hear Mexican rugby has divided alone class lines, with of course the poor playing League.

But no surprise to hear Union up to their usual tricks and trying to put a spanner in the League works.

Excellent stuff .....Does Des want to come back to run Oldham Rugby League never mind Ireland . . .  Hes not lost his Yonner accent , and even Declan has an Ireland / Yonner accent it seems . . .

Whoever did this pro mo job should be given the job at The Rugby Football League .......

Thanks it was League Culture production if you can call it that.

Unfortunately the editing was a bit of a rush job and the sound levels for the music went a bit wrong.

So some of Des's humour gets a little drowned out by the music.

It could do with a bit of a trim in places and some of the action filmed on the day didn't make its way to us.

We wanted to get the Hungarians interviewed but the battery on the camera ran out of power.

When our day jobs get a bit quieter I am sure we will redo the video.

But the point of the video was to highlight the opportunities amateur teams have to play in Central Europe.

Des is working on a tournament in Poland for next year.

That should have Polish, Hungarian, Irish, Belarussian, Czech teams playing 9s and Eurotag (Limited Contact).

It will give young Irish players to become part of a representative team.  He took 3 of the u-19s to Budapest.

As he is looking for ways to gets young Irish players excited to be involved in Rugby League.

I think Oldham would benefit from getting some of the ex-players back involved with the club.

Des certainly still has the club in his heart.

Tex thanks for that!

I wonder if we'd never had SL whether places like Burundi would ever have happened?

That M62 Corridor is looking strangely wide these days!

I think the internet is the main reason the sport is spreading.  It is easier to find a handful of people in your part of the world to start something and easier to communicate and organize.  Consider the logistics of starting a club in a new European country now compared to twenty years ago.  It is immense.

Definitely YouTube and Facebook have had a massive effect.

The superleague should have a YouTube channel showing games on a few days after they have been played. Aggressive marketing on social media will see the sport grow massively.
