Woods to depart Whitehaven

<p>Following a board meeting earlier this week, Whitehaven have confirmed they are looking for a new coach for 2015.</p>

<p>Dave Woods, who arrived at Whitehaven in 2012, has an impressive coaching record, helping Castleford back into Super League in 2005 and winning promotion from Championship One with both Gateshead and York in 2008 and 2010 respectively. He also secured Championship status for the Cumbria club this season but has been told his services are no longer required.</p>

<p>“The directors believe the time is right to move forward in a new direction,” the club statement said. </p>

<p>“We are confident there will be significant interest in the coaching position for the 2015 season.” </p>
