Bears Final Trial Stage this Sunday 2nd November.

This Sunday is the Final stage of player assessment trials for new and existing players who are looking to join the League One squad for next season.

The club has had over 130 players apply to join with 60 invited to two player assessment days in mid October which saw the players undertaking athletic and physical testing as well as game based practices which measured game sense, technical skills and decision making.

In the final stage, the best 30 players from the initial days have been called back to take place in a 13 a side game simulation.

The most talented players and those that show the most potential will be offered contracts for League one season along with a number of players already picked up by the club.

Head Coach Tom Tsang commented:

“We were pleasantly suprised by the number of players who applied to join us and also the diversity in locations the players are from. The standard of the assessment days so far has been high and there have been a number of players who have already caught our eye. This final stage will allow us to view the best players from the previous days in a full contact 13 a side situation and will allow us to make the best judgement on any stand out players or players with potential for future development.”

“These assessment days fit into a wider recruitment strategy which is in full flow and we will soon be in a position to announce both the signings of players that impress us on Sunday, as well as those from other avenues, ahead of our pre-season start date in late November.”

The trial game is being played this Sunday afternoon 2nd November at 1.30pm Kick off, Coventry Universities Westwood Heath grounds.

Fans are welcome to come along and see the talent on show.
