Hull Dockers and Rochdale Mayfield

Two community clubs, Hull Dockers and Rochdale Mayfield have each been charged with fielding an ineligible player during Ladbrokes Challenge Cup first round ties and will appear before RFL Tribunals on Tuesday February 10.

The charges relate to the matches Hull Dockers v Leigh Miners Rangers played on Saturday January 31 and Great Britain Police v Rochdale Mayfield played on Sunday February 1.

Have heard others did not take note of the E mail sent out saying players needed to be transfered into NCL clubs from so called winter based club

Each club was emailed a list of their currently registered players to stop this situation arising. Seems like negligence on behalf of Dockers n Mayfield.

 I think that it was more a case of poor administration by the clubs. They had been provided with a list of the registered players. The player at mayfield was not a regular first team player so you could hardly claim that he was a major advantage. They made a mistake and will accept the punishment.
