That was a red card all day long. One of the truly shocking calls.

Sorry but I've got to disagree. It looked worse than it was because Penny span round. However, as Jon Wells just said, there was no direct contact with the head. Penalty and talking to was sufficient, IMHO.

Not officially they can't although sometimes you'll come across TJs coming onto the field as if they've just thought have something when the only thing that could have happened is a word in the ear or a look at the screen.

That was a red card all day long. One of the truly shocking calls. And given that we've seen some decent 12v13 games in the past few months I'm not buying the 'keep everyone on the field for a good game' as a reason.

But, away from that moment, what a tremendous half of football we've had.

I thought the red could ask and then the VR can look at it. What he can't do is give his opinion without being asked.

Well I've learnt something tonight. Benji Marshall spent a year in union with the blues.

Can't say I'm surprised. Ten minutes does it for me.

And yellow card to Penny for spinning around presumably.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Great game, any other ref but Thaler and that's a red. In the end we were lucky to get a penalty given Thaler claimed the connection was with the shoulder.

We're playing well, two frustrating as hell tries to concede. Terrific advert for the game.

Ganson would have given him a red and then when he crossed the touchline called him back and give him another one.

Predictions for the future -

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG

Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT

Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

Why do our referees pander to the Aussies.   Thaler is letting them away with flops every tackle and other things that in a league game he would pull a team up for.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Rugby Union the only game in the world were the spectators handle the ball more than the players.
